Best Pest Control Sydney
There is no official ranking of Sydney pest controllers — so here is what actually separates a good one from a cheap one, and how to check it before you book.
Nobody Can Tell You Who Is Objectively Best
Every pest control company in Sydney calls itself the best, which makes the claim worthless. There is no independent ranking, no accreditation that measures quality, and the review platforms measure how people felt about a visit rather than whether the treatment was technically correct.
So rather than argue we are the best, this page sets out the checks we would make if we were hiring a pest controller for our own home — the licence, the insurance, the scope, the warranty and the reporting. They are easy to verify, and they are what actually separates a competent operator from a cheap one.
If you apply these checks and choose someone else, that is a reasonable outcome. The worst result is choosing on price alone and finding out in two months what the cheap quote left out.
- NSW licence 5122967
- Fully insured, treating to Australian Standard
- Fixed quotes and written reports as standard
- 5.0 on Google from Sydney customers
What Actually Separates A Good Operator
1. A current NSW licence
Required by law to apply pesticides commercially. Ask for the number — you are entitled to it. No number, no booking.
2. Public liability insurance
Treatments happen inside your home. Confirm cover exists before anyone applies anything.
3. Scope in writing
Does the quote include the sub-floor and roof void, or interior only? This is the usual reason two quotes differ by hundreds.
4. A real warranty
Six months is a fair standard for general treatment — and ask what it excludes, because an honest answer tells you a lot.
How to Compare Sydney Quotes Fairly
Make them like-for-like
Ask each company the same three questions: is the price fixed or an estimate, does it include the sub-floor and roof void, and what does the warranty cover. Most of the spread between Sydney quotes disappears once you do.
A $89 interior-only treatment and a $220 treatment covering the sub-floor, roof void, external perimeter and garden are not the same product, and comparing the headline numbers tells you nothing.
Watch for the pressure signals
Be wary of a price that rises once someone is standing in your kitchen, of urgency pricing because you sound worried, and of any operator who will not put the licence number or the warranty terms in writing.
Equally, be wary of claims that products are completely safe or non-toxic. APVMA regulates how registered pesticides can be described, and a careful operator will tell you what they are using and what precautions apply instead of promising it is harmless.
A Checklist You Can Use on the Phone
Seven questions, about four minutes on the phone, and they will tell you more than any star rating.
- Ask for the NSW pest management licence number and write it down
- Confirm public liability insurance is current
- Ask whether the quote is fixed or an estimate that can change on the day
- Ask explicitly whether the sub-floor and roof void are included
- Ask what the warranty covers and what it excludes
- Ask whether you get a written report of products used and areas treated
- For termites, ask whether the quote is for an inspection, a treatment, or both
What We Can Actually Evidence
The verifiable parts
NSW pest management licence 5122967 and ABN 65 615 234 305 — both checkable independently.
Fully insured, treating to Australian Standard, using APVMA-registered products applied at label rates.
5.0 on Google from Sydney homeowners and businesses, and a written report after every job.
The honest limits
We are a local Sydney operator, not a national franchise — if you want 24/7 national call-centre cover, we are not that.
We publish starting prices rather than guaranteed totals, because a quote given before anyone has seen a sub-floor is a guess.
And we will tell you when a problem is coming from a neighbouring property rather than re-treating yours repeatedly, even though that is the less profitable answer.

Choosing Pest Control in Sydney
What to check, and what the differences between quotes usually mean.
Get a Free QuoteHow do I choose the best pest control company in Sydney?
Check the NSW pest management licence number, confirm they carry insurance, and make sure you are given a fixed written quote and a written report afterwards. Then look at whether the quote actually covers the same scope as the others you have — interior only versus interior plus sub-floor and roof void is the single most common reason two quotes differ.
Is the most expensive pest control the best?
No, and neither is the cheapest. Price should track scope and time: property size, number of storeys, whether there is a sub-floor and roof void, and how established the problem is. A quote that is far above the others without more scope attached is worth questioning, and so is one far below.
What licence should a Sydney pest controller hold?
A NSW pest management technician licence, issued under the Pesticides Act and administered by the NSW Environment Protection Authority. You are entitled to ask for the number before work starts. Ours is 5122967.
Do online reviews tell you anything useful?
Some things. Look past the star rating at what the reviews describe — whether technicians turned up when promised, whether the problem actually resolved, and how the company handled it when something went wrong. A long run of recent, specific reviews says more than a high average on a handful.
Should I use a franchise or an independent?
Either can be good. Franchises offer consistency and scale; independents often give you the same technician each visit and more local knowledge. Judge on the licence, the warranty, the written reporting and whether the person quoting has actually looked at your property.
What warranty should I expect?
For a general pest treatment, six months is a reasonable standard — if the treated pests return in that window the company should re-treat at no charge. Ask what it excludes: a different pest, or re-infestation from an untreated neighbouring property, usually sits outside it, and an honest operator will tell you that upfront.
How many quotes should I get?
Two or three is plenty, but only if they cover the same scope. Ask each one whether the price includes the sub-floor and roof void, whether it is fixed or an estimate, and what the warranty covers. Comparing three like-for-like quotes is useful; comparing three different jobs is not.
