OVERVIEW

Expert Flea Control You Can Trust

Fleas are a life-cycle problem, not a surface problem. The adults biting your ankles are barely five per cent of the infestation - the rest are eggs, larvae and pupae buried deep in carpet pile, floorboard gaps, pet bedding and the soil under the house.

That is why a can of supermarket spray never finishes the job. We treat the whole environment with an insect growth regulator alongside a residual product, so the eggs and larvae already in your floors never reach biting age.

SPECIES WE TREAT

What We Treat

Our licensed technicians are trained across every variety you're likely to encounter in Sydney.

Cat Flea

Cat Flea

By far the most common flea in Sydney homes, and the species behind the overwhelming majority of bites. It feeds on cats, dogs and people alike.

Dog Flea

Dog Flea

Closely related to the cat flea and treated the same way, though genuinely less common in Australian homes than most people assume.

Human Flea

Human Flea

Now rare in Sydney but still turns up in older properties and sheds, particularly where livestock or poultry were once kept.

Bird Flea

Bird Flea

Arrives with pigeons, mynas and starlings nesting in eaves and roof voids, then drops into the ceiling and living space once the birds leave.

Rat Flea

Rat Flea

Carried in by rodents in roof voids and sub-floors, and the reason a flea problem sometimes appears in a home with no pets at all.

Sticktight Flea

Sticktight Flea

Attaches firmly to the head and ears of poultry and occasionally pets, needing a different approach to the usual environmental treatment.

SIGNS OF AN INFESTATION

Know the Warning Signs

Spotting the problem early makes treatment faster, easier and far less costly.

Ankle and Lower-Leg Bites

Clusters of small, intensely itchy red bites concentrated below the knee, where fleas can jump from carpet and grass.

Pets Scratching Constantly

Persistent scratching, biting at the base of the tail and thinning fur are usually the first warning, well before people are bitten.

Flea Dirt in the Coat

Fine black specks in the coat or bedding that turn rusty red on damp paper. That is digested blood, and proof of live fleas.

Live Fleas on Light Carpet

Small dark insects that disappear the instant you look directly at them, most visible on pale carpet and rugs.

Sudden Bites in an Empty House

Coming home from holidays to a wave of bites is classic. Vibration and warmth trigger dormant pupae to hatch all at once.

Activity in Sub-Floors and Yards

Bites picked up in shaded soil, under decking or beside the kennel, where larvae thrive in cool, humid conditions.

WHY IT MATTERS

Why Flea Control Can't Wait

01

Relentless Biting

Flea bites are painfully itchy and often trigger allergic dermatitis in both people and pets, leading to broken skin and infection.

02

Explosive Breeding

A single female lays up to fifty eggs a day, so a handful of fleas becomes an infestation across every carpeted room within weeks.

03

Pets Suffer Most

Flea allergy dermatitis is one of the most common reasons Sydney pets end up at the vet, and heavy burdens can cause anaemia in young animals.

04

Disease and Tapeworm

Fleas transmit tapeworm to cats and dogs and can carry bacterial infections, making prompt control a genuine health matter.

How much does flea control cost?

Flea treatments start from $89 for a standard home, with a fixed quote confirmed before we begin. The final price depends on the size of the property, how many rooms are carpeted and whether the sub-floor and yard need treating as well. Properties with heavy infestations or multiple pets sometimes need a planned second visit, which we quote upfront rather than adding later.

Do I need to treat my pets at the same time?

Yes, and it matters enormously. We treat the property; your vet treats the animal. If your pets stay untreated they simply reintroduce fleas to freshly treated floors within days, and the whole job unravels. Arrange a veterinary flea product for every pet in the house around the time of our visit and the two treatments reinforce each other.

Why am I still seeing fleas after treatment?

This is normal and expected for up to two weeks. Flea pupae sit inside a protective cocoon that no insecticide penetrates, and they only hatch when they detect vibration and warmth. Those newly hatched fleas then contact the residual product and die. Vacuuming daily actually helps, because it triggers more of them to emerge into the treatment.

Should I vacuum before and after you come?

Yes to both. Vacuum thoroughly before the treatment to lift the carpet pile and remove eggs and flea dirt, then keep vacuuming every day for at least two weeks afterwards, emptying into an outside bin each time. Do not shampoo or steam-clean carpets after treatment, because that strips the residual product away.

Is flea treatment safe for my family and pets?

Yes. We use APVMA-registered, low-toxicity products applied as a fine surface residual, and your technician gives you the exact re-entry time on the day, usually around two hours once surfaces are dry. Fish tanks are covered and pumps switched off during treatment, and pets stay off treated areas until everything has dried.

Is the work guaranteed?

Yes. Flea treatments carry our 6-month warranty when the recommended pet treatment is carried out as well. If covered activity returns inside that period we come back and re-treat at no charge and no call-out fee. The warranty is confirmed in writing with your receipt, and we hold NSW pest management licence 5122967.
