Twenty-nine suburbs from Gladesville and the river up through Ryde and Eastwood to Epping, Beecroft and Westleigh — brick homes, big gardens and a business park.
Real, verified feedback from people we've helped — straight from Google.
This is the belt of Sydney that sits between the North Shore and Parramatta, and it has a character of its own. Twenty-nine suburbs between roughly 7 and 22 km from the city, mostly City of Ryde with parts reaching into Hornsby Shire and the City of Parramatta, and the housing is dominated by post-war brick homes and Federation houses on generous, well-planted blocks.
Those gardens are the defining feature. Mature trees, deep beds, old timber fencing and decades of planting hold soil moisture right against the brickwork — which is exactly what ants, spiders and termites want, and why activity here runs later into autumn than it does on more open ground further west.
Two things cut across that. The Parramatta River frontage at Gladesville, Putney, Tennyson Point, Huntleys Point and Meadowbank keeps ground damp and gives rodents a protected corridor. And Macquarie Park has turned the middle of the district into a dense office, university and retail precinct with the waste handling and loading activity that goes with it.
At the northern end — Pennant Hills, Thornleigh, Westleigh, Beecroft — the blocks start backing onto bushland, and the job changes again toward termites, possums and roof voids.
We run this district alongside the Lower and Upper North Shore, so technicians are usually close by and same or next-day attendance is normal.
Technicians cover Ryde, Eastwood, Epping and Carlingford every weekday — most jobs here are attended same or next day.
Mature planting against brickwork is the local driver. We treat the garden interface, not just the inside of the house.
Older brick homes have generous ceiling cavities. We inspect the void, find the entry, and handle possums humanely under NSW rules.

What we find across the northern district, and how it shifts from the river to the bushland edge.
The gardens come first. This district has some of the most established suburban planting in Sydney, and deep mulch beds, old timber fencing and permanent shade hold moisture hard against the external wall. Ant and spider activity stays strong well past summer, and the same moisture is a conducive condition for termites in any timber-framed home.
The river does the second job. The Parramatta River Regional Park corridor and the foreshore at Gladesville, Putney, Huntleys Point and Meadowbank keep ground damp and give rodents a sheltered route between suburbs. Golf courses at Ryde-Parramatta, North Ryde, Massey Park and Pennant Hills add irrigated turf and tree lines on top.
Macquarie Park is the third. Office towers, the university and the shopping centre concentrate food waste and loading activity in a way nothing else in the district does, and the residential streets around it absorb the overflow. Station precincts at Epping, Eastwood, West Ryde and Meadowbank add apartment stock with shared bin rooms and risers.
At the top of the district, Lane Cove National Park, Field of Mars Reserve and Galaringi Reserve press against housing through Beecroft, Pennant Hills, Thornleigh and Westleigh, and those streets behave much more like the Upper North Shore — termites, possums and roof-void rodents.
Landmarks we work around: Lane Cove National Park, Field of Mars Reserve, Macquarie Centre, Ryde Parramatta Golf Club, Pennant Hills Golf Course, Parramatta River Regional Park, West Ryde Marketplace, North Ryde Golf Club, Galaringi Reserve, Thornleigh Marketplace, Eastwood Shopping Centre, Meadowbank station.
General pest control starts from $89 for apartments and compact homes. A typical northern-district house — brick, roof void, sub-floor and a substantial established garden — is quoted higher because there is genuinely more to inspect and treat. Termite inspections start from $159.
Where the garden is doing the damage we will say so, and recommend pulling beds back from the wall line, because that change is free and it works better than treating the same perimeter twice a year.
Ryde, Eastwood, Epping, West Ryde, Carlingford, Macquarie Park and Gladesville make up most of our work here, with Pennant Hills and Beecroft steady on the bushland-edge jobs.

Mature gardens, river frontage, a business precinct and a bushland top end — four quite different drivers in one district.
Established trees, deep beds and old fencing hold moisture against the house, giving ants, spiders and termites harbourage right at the wall line.
The river and its foreshore reserves keep ground damp and give rodents a protected route between suburbs.
Office towers, the university and the shopping centre concentrate food waste and loading activity that sustains rodent and cockroach populations nearby.
1950s and 60s housing has ageing roofs, tired eaves and cavity brickwork that let rodents and ants move in unseen.

Termite pressure here is shaped by mature gardens, Parramatta River frontage and a dense business and university precinct — what that means for the timber in Ryde & the Northern District homes, and what we actually check.
Termite pressure across the northern district is moderate in the south and genuinely high at the top end, and the dividing line is roughly where the bushland starts.
Through Gladesville, Putney, Ryde, West Ryde and Meadowbank the main driver is the gardens. Decades of established planting, irrigation and deep mulch keep soil moisture high against the building, and much of the housing is timber-framed under brick veneer with a suspended floor. That is a workable combination for subterranean termites even without bushland nearby.
North of there — Beecroft, Cheltenham, Pennant Hills, West Pennant Hills, Thornleigh, Westleigh and Normanhurst — properties back onto Lane Cove National Park, Galaringi Reserve and the gully country, and the risk profile matches the Upper North Shore: moist bushland soil, fallen hardwood, and timber decks and sleeper walls bridging straight past whatever protection exists.
Inspections start from $159 and cover the sub-floor, roof void where accessible, garden, decks, retaining walls, fences and outbuildings, with a written report. On bushland-edge blocks we usually recommend the full timber pest version.
We assess the property, identify the pest, locate harbourage and entry points, and confirm the extent of the problem.

Surface spray kills foragers only. We bait so the colony is reduced, and we will usually suggest pulling beds back from the wall, which costs nothing and helps more than a second treatment.
General pest control starts from $89 for apartments and compact homes. A typical brick house here with a roof void, sub-floor and established garden is quoted higher because there is more ground to cover properly. Termite inspections start from $159, and the price is fixed before we start.
Yes, annually. Through Beecroft, Pennant Hills, Thornleigh and Westleigh the bushland supplies moist soil, fallen hardwood and mature eucalypts right at the fence line, and decks and sleeper walls on those blocks commonly bridge past any barrier. Further south the risk is lower but the gardens still keep conditions favourable.
We inspect the void to confirm, because the response and the law differ. Rats are fast, light and continuous; possums are heavier, slower, active around dusk and dawn, and protected in NSW. Possums are removed humanely and the entry proofed; rodents are treated and then the access sealed, since baiting alone leaves the void free for the next one.
Yes. We treat individual units and can quote building management for bin rooms, chutes, basement car parks and risers. In towers the common areas usually hold the population, so building-wide treatment is what actually resolves a recurring cockroach problem.
Yes. Our northern district run takes in Beecroft, Cheltenham, Normanhurst, Pennant Hills, Thornleigh and Westleigh in Hornsby Shire, alongside the City of Ryde suburbs and Carlingford, Epping and West Pennant Hills.
