Cockroach Control
Fast, lasting cockroach extermination for kitchens, bathrooms and commercial sites.
Thirty-one Shire suburbs between the ocean, the Georges River and the Royal National Park — funnel-web country with coastal damp and genuine bushland termite pressure.
Real, verified feedback from people we've helped — straight from Google.
The Sutherland Shire is hemmed in by three very different environments and gets pest pressure from all of them. Thirty-one suburbs between roughly 17 and 30 km south and south-west of the city, almost entirely within Sutherland Shire Council, with the ocean and Bate Bay to the east, the Georges River and Port Hacking wrapping the north and south, and the Royal National Park filling the southern boundary.
The bushland side is the serious one. Streets through Menai, Bangor, Alfords Point, Woronora, Woronora Heights, Engadine, Heathcote, Loftus, Bundeena and Maianbar back directly onto national park or substantial reserve, and that brings subterranean termites, rodents, possums and ground-dwelling spiders — including funnel-webs — right to the fence line. The damp sandstone, leaf litter and mulch beds common across the Shire are exactly the conditions funnel-webs prefer, and we treat that as a safety matter.
The coastal and riverfront side brings a different set of problems. Cronulla, Caringbah South, Burraneer, Port Hacking, Lilli Pilli, Yowie Bay, Dolans Bay, Como, Oyster Bay and Taren Point deal with salt air, sand-silted sub-floor vents and tidal moisture that keeps ground damp under timber-floored homes.
In the middle sit the commercial centres — Miranda, Caringbah, Sutherland, Menai, Kirrawee and Cronulla — with their retail, food strips and apartment stock. Three districts in one, and we scope each job for which one it actually belongs to.
We run the Shire daily, splitting it between the coastal and Cronulla end, the Miranda and Caringbah middle, and the Menai, Engadine and bushland west.
Technicians cover the Shire every weekday across coastal, central and bushland sections — most jobs attended same or next day.
The Shire is funnel-web country. We treat harbourage around sandstone, mulch, sheds and pool surrounds, with practical advice for families and pets.
National park and reserve boundaries bring real termite risk. Full timber inspections, baiting systems and barriers to Australian Standard.
Salt air, sand-silted vents and tidal moisture keep sub-floors damp. We inspect underneath rather than treating the inside in isolation.
What the park, the river and the coast each bring to Shire properties.
The Royal National Park and the reserve network are the dominant influence on the western and southern side. Menai Conservation Park, Wattlebird Bushland Reserve, Gunnamatta Foreshore Bushland Reserve, Swallow Rock Reserve and the Woronora valley bushland run right against housing, and they deliver the full bush package — subterranean termites working through moist soil and fallen hardwood, rodents and possums with a protected route to roof voids, and ground spiders in the leaf litter and sandstone.
Funnel-webs deserve specific mention. The Shire's combination of damp sandstone, deep mulch, shaded gardens and bushland edges is close to ideal habitat, and a great many properties here have all of it. We treat the harbourage areas — around sheds, pool pump housings, retaining walls and garden structures — and give practical advice, because this is one of the few pests where the safety advice matters as much as the treatment.
On the water side the issue is damp rather than wildlife. Salt air and wind-blown sand silt up sub-floor vents through Cronulla, Burraneer, Caringbah South and the Port Hacking suburbs, and tidal moisture along the Georges River keeps ground wet at Como, Oyster Bay, Taren Point and the bay-side streets. Damp sub-floors sustain cockroaches and silverfish and create conducive conditions for termites.
Commercially, Westfield Miranda, Caringbah Shopping Village, Menai Marketplace, Parkside Plaza, Kareela Shopping Centre and the Cronulla food strip concentrate the rodent and cockroach work, with the golf courses at Cronulla, Woolooware, Kareela and The Ridge adding irrigated turf for ants.
Landmarks we work around: Cronulla Beach, Westfield Miranda, Menai Conservation Park, Cronulla Golf Course, Woolooware Golf Course, Kareela Golf Course, Gunnamatta Foreshore Bushland Reserve, Shiprock Aquatic Reserve, Caringbah Shopping Village, Menai Marketplace, Swallow Rock Reserve, Sutherland station.
General pest control starts from $89 for units and compact homes. A house on a bushland block with a sub-floor, decking and a large garden takes considerably longer, so it prices above that — the quote is fixed before we start either way. Termite inspections start from $159.
Spider treatment is the most-requested job in the Shire and is best timed before summer rather than during it. On bushland-edge properties we will often recommend a full timber pest inspection rather than a basic termite check, and we will explain the difference rather than just upselling it.
Miranda, Caringbah, Cronulla, Sutherland, Engadine, Menai and Kirrawee are our busiest Shire suburbs, with the bushland-edge streets around Woronora, Bangor and Heathcote steady for termite and rodent work.

National park on one side, water on the others, and sandstone throughout — the conditions that define Shire pest work.
The Royal National Park and the reserve network press directly against housing, bringing termites, rodents, possums and spiders to the fence line.
Damp sandstone, deep mulch and shaded gardens are preferred funnel-web conditions, and most Shire properties have all three.
Tidal ground along the Georges River and Port Hacking, plus salt air and sand-silted vents on the coast, keeps sub-floors damp year-round.
Decks, pergolas, sleeper walls and sheds in ground contact near bushland are the most common way termites bridge into Shire houses.

Termite pressure here is shaped by the coast, the Georges River and the Royal National Park — what that means for the timber in Sutherland Shire homes, and what we actually check.
The Sutherland Shire sits in the top tier of termite risk in Sydney, and the reason is simply how much bushland there is and how close it gets to houses.
The Royal National Park, Menai Conservation Park, the Woronora valley and the Shire's extensive reserve network supply everything a subterranean colony needs — permanently moist soil under canopy, fallen hardwood, stumps and mature eucalypts — directly adjacent to residential streets. Properties through Menai, Bangor, Alfords Point, Woronora, Woronora Heights, Engadine, Heathcote, Loftus, Bundeena and Maianbar are the most exposed, but reserve fingers run much further into the Shire than people assume.
The way termites actually get in is usually something the owner built. Decks, pergolas, sleeper retaining walls, garden edging, sheds and fencing with timber sitting in or near soil give a colony a bridge straight past whatever protection the house has. On sloping sandstone blocks — which is most of the Shire — split levels and sub-floor cuts add concealed, permanently damp approaches you cannot see from outside.
Then the coastal side adds its own conducive conditions: sand-silted sub-floor vents and tidal moisture keep the space under timber-floored homes humid. Our inspections start from $159 and cover the sub-floor, roof void where accessible, garden, decks, retaining walls, fences and outbuildings, with a written report — and on bushland blocks we will usually recommend the full timber pest version.
We assess the property, identify the pest, locate harbourage and entry points, and confirm the extent of the problem.
You receive a clear, fixed-price plan scoped to your property — no guesswork and no hidden costs.
Licensed technicians apply targeted, pet & child safe treatments designed to eliminate the source.

Get a Free QuoteThe Shire is genuinely one of the better-known areas for them, because damp sandstone, deep mulch, shaded gardens and bushland edges are exactly what they shelter in — and most properties here have all of that. We treat the harbourage areas around sheds, pool pump housings, retaining walls and garden structures, and we give practical advice: gloves and closed shoes in the garden, check anything left outside, keep litter away from where kids play.
On bushland-edge blocks, absolutely. The Royal National Park and the reserve network supply moist soil, fallen hardwood and mature eucalypts right against housing, and most Shire properties have decks, sleeper walls or sheds with timber in ground contact that can bridge straight past protection. Inspections start from $159 with a written report.

Yes. We inspect the void to identify whether it is rats, mice or possums, because the response differs. Possums are protected in NSW and must be removed humanely with the entry proofed so they cannot return. For rodents we treat the population and then seal the access, since baiting alone just leaves the void open for the next one.
Two reasons. Wind-blown sand silts up sub-floor vents over time, and once airflow drops the space stops drying out. On the river and bay side, tidal ground keeps soil moisture high regardless. Clearing the vents and keeping garden beds back from them makes a real difference to cockroach, silverfish and termite conditions.
Yes. We run programs for food premises, retail and commercial sites across the Shire centres, scheduled outside trading hours. Each visit includes a written report of areas inspected and treated, bait station activity and recommendations suitable for council environmental health officers.
