Are the holes in my clothes from moths or carpet beetles?
It is worth identifying properly, because they are treated differently. Clothes moth damage tends to come with silken webbing, cases or fine threads. Carpet beetle damage comes with bristly cast skins and no webbing, and often shows as surface grazing rather than clean holes. We identify which one you have before we treat anything.
Where do carpet beetles actually come from?
Adults fly in from garden flowers in spring, and larvae also develop in bird nests in eaves and roof voids. Once inside, they breed in lint, pet hair, dead insects and floor debris in the places nobody vacuums - under heavy furniture, along carpet edges, in wardrobe corners. Removing that debris is a large part of lasting control.

Vacuum thoroughly along carpet edges, under furniture and inside wardrobes, and empty into an outside bin. Launder or dry-clean affected clothing and blankets, since heat kills every life stage. Move stored boxes away from wardrobe floors and skirting so we can reach the harbourage. Your technician will confirm the specifics when booking.
Will the treatment protect my woollens in storage?
Treatment addresses the property and the harbourage rather than sealing individual garments. For long-term storage the best protection is laundering or dry-cleaning items first, then storing them in genuinely airtight containers rather than cardboard or fabric bags. We will go through this with you, because storage habits are what determine whether the problem returns.
