Spider Control in Rozelle 2039 — local technicians, fixed prices and a written report. Spider treatment starts from $89.
Real, verified feedback from people we've helped — straight from Google.
Local technicians, fixed prices and a written report for every job in Rozelle.
Our Inner West technicians cover Rozelle and the rest of 2039 as a matter of course - it is only about 3.3 km west of the city. Our technicians are through Rozelle most days, so same-day attendance is usually available.
Our Rozelle work takes in the streets by Birkenhead Point Outlet Centre and Rozelle Bay station, through to Hannan Reserve at the other end.
Rozelle is in the Inner West, Burwood, Strathfield and Canada Bay area, and we cover Balmain, Lilyfield and Birchgrove on the same runs - handy if you own more than one property or your spider problem has come from next door. Terraces, semis and converted blocks share cavities and risers, which is why a single-unit treatment often does not hold on its own.
Around Rozelle the pattern is fairly consistent: terraces and semis where the problem has come through a shared wall. Tell us which it is on the phone and we will come prepared for it.
The whole of 2039 is on our regular run.
The 2039 run is set the day before and you are given an arrival time. Where Balmain and Lilyfield fall on the same round, we can usually bring the visit forward.
Timing a treatment just before the spring hatch does far more for a Rozelle property than treating in midsummer once the spiderlings have already dispersed.
A general perimeter treatment often fixes the spiders as a side effect, because it drops the insect numbers they are living on.
Males wander in warm, humid weather looking for females, which is when Rozelle households find them in a garage, a laundry or the bottom of a pool.
Two of these warrant real care. The rest are mostly a nuisance, but they are why webs reappear.

Glossy black, 2 to 4 cm, living in silk-lined burrows in cool, sheltered ground under rocks, logs and houses. Males wander in summer and autumn looking for females. A bite is a medical emergency.

Black, with the red stripe on the female's back, and untidy webbing in dry sheltered positions - under outdoor seating, letterboxes, pot rims, pool fencing and sheds. Bites can be severely painful; seek medical advice.

This is the dark stocky one with lacy funnel webs in window frames, brickwork gaps and eaves. It avoids people, but the webs collect dust and reappear fast without treatment.

Slim, dark, with a pale spot at the end of the abdomen. A roaming hunter that comes inside at night after other spiders, sometimes into bedding and clothing. Bites are painful but a large study found no ulcers.

Big, flat and quick, found under bark, in wall cavities and behind curtains. Startling in a car or a bedroom, but shy. Because it hunts rather than webs, controlling the insects it eats reduces how many return.

| Spider | Risk | First aid | Get help |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sydney funnel-web | Potentially fatal venom that affects the nervous system | Pressure immobilisation bandage, snake-bite style, and keep them from moving | Call 000 immediately |
| Mouse spider | Bites are rare, but the venom can act like funnel-web venom in some cases | Any bite from a large black spider gets funnel-web first aid: pressure immobilisation | Call 000 immediately |
| Redback | Increasingly severe pain, sweating and feeling unwell; antivenom exists | Do NOT apply a pressure bandage. Wash the area, then a cloth-wrapped cold pack | Seek medical care if pain is severe or symptoms develop |
| White-tailed spider | Painful, red and itchy; no ulceration was found in a study of 130 confirmed bites | Clean the area and use a cold pack | See a doctor if symptoms worsen or persist |
| Black house spider, huntsman and others | Local pain and swelling is the usual extent | Wash the bite and put a cold pack on it | See a doctor if you feel unwell or symptoms persist |
If you are not sure what bit you and it was a large black spider, assume funnel-web and call 000. A pest treatment reduces spider numbers; it cannot guarantee a funnel-web will never wander in.
A licensed Sydney technician will talk it through and give you a fixed quote within half an hour.
The Australian Museum records male funnel-webs leaving their burrows mainly through summer and autumn to find females - the period when encounters peak.
A humid night following rain means more wandering males, sheltering in shoes left outside, laundry on the floor, garages and gaps under doors.
Backyard pools catch wandering males, and they survive underwater for hours. Use the skimmer net every time, never your hand.
Its range runs from the Central Coast south as far as the Georges River, and west to about Baulkham Hills, concentrated in bushy sheltered suburbs.
Outside first, because that is where most spiders live and breed.
A walk of the property together, checking eaves and window frames, fences, rockeries, retaining walls, subfloor vents and garden edges.
We take the webbing and egg sacs down from eaves, pergola, furniture and garage before treating, which stops a fresh hatch landing in the treatment.
We apply a residual to external walls, eaves, window and door frames, weep holes and the resting places we find.
Funnel-web risk means treating the sheltered ground next to the house: rockeries, retaining walls, sleepers and the subfloor edges.
Inside the house it is spot treatment where required - corners, skirting, wardrobes - plus dusting of the roof void and subfloor where accessible.

The hunting species - huntsmen, white-tails - cross fewer treated surfaces. Controlling what they eat is what lowers their numbers gradually.
That no wandering male funnel-web crosses the yard on a humid night. Harbourage near the house is reduced, but first aid knowledge and good habits remain important.
Garden orb weavers that string webs across paths are harmless. We remove webs near doors and walkways, but leaving some in the garden helps control flying insects.
Simple habits that matter most in funnel-web and redback country.
| Season | What spiders are doing | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Spring (Sept to Nov) | The hatch begins and webs appear quickly on eaves and fences | Treat and clear webs before the spiderlings spread |
| Summer (Dec to Feb) | Funnel-web males on the move, redbacks active around outdoor seating | Check the pool and shoes, look over outdoor areas, maintain door seals |
| Autumn (Mar to May) | Male funnel-webs are still wandering, particularly after rain | Be careful on humid nights and keep gardening gloves on |
| Winter (Jun to Aug) | Fewer webs outside; huntsmen shelter indoors and in cars | Good time for pest-proofing gaps before spring |
Anywhere in Rozelle is the same price and the same response, whether it backs onto reserve or sits in the middle of the suburb.
Indoor sightings are usually a proofing issue rather than an infestation. Gaps under doors, unscreened vents and wall penetrations account for most of what we find inside.
Heavy rain pushes ground-dwelling spiders up and into garages, laundries and under-house areas around Rozelle. That is when the calls spike.
We name the species we find and explain their significance for your household.
Beyond the eaves: the ground harbourage alongside the house is treated as well.
We set out plainly what a treatment can do - wandering funnel-web males included.
General spider treatments come with 6 months of cover, and webs returning means we do too.

Get a Free QuoteSpider treatment starts from $89. We quote on the property rather than the postcode, so a unit in Rozelle and a large house are priced differently. The figure is fixed before any work starts. Every general treatment carries a 6-month warranty.
Same-day attendance is usually available. Our Inner West technicians cover Rozelle daily, and you get a confirmed arrival time when you book.
Joined housing is the reason. Where walls, roof voids and sub-floors are continuous between properties, spiders are a street-level problem rather than a house-level one.
Mostly terrace and semi. We look at the party wall, the sub-floor and the roof space, because those are the routes between houses.
We do all of those. A good share of the Rozelle jobs we run are tenanted or strata properties, so the written record comes as standard.
Yes, when it is applied properly. We use registered products at label rates and tell you which areas to keep clear and for how long. Mention pets, fish tanks or allergies when you book.
Most of the time you can carry on as normal. If a particular area needs to be empty we will flag it when we arrive and it is rarely more than a couple of hours.
An hour to two hours covers most jobs. The size of the building and the extent of the problem are what change it.
Every general treatment carries a 6-month warranty. So if they turn up again within the warranty, ring us and we will attend.
We cover the whole of Rozelle, from the streets around Birkenhead Point Outlet Centre out to the suburb boundary and on into Balmain.
