Days 1 to 3
You may see cockroaches out in daylight, moving slowly or dying on the floor. This is the bait and growth regulator starting to work. Sweep them up and keep going.
Cockroach Control in Chester Hill 2162 — local technicians, fixed prices and a written report. A cockroach treatment starts from $89.
Real, verified feedback from people we've helped — straight from Google.
Where Chester Hill sits, who covers it and what it costs.
We treat cockroaches right across 2162. Chester Hill is roughly 18.9 km west of the city, which puts it well inside the Canterbury-Bankstown run our technicians work. We run Chester Hill on a regular route, and same-day attendance is usually available.
The Chester Hill addresses we attend cluster around Norford Park and Bass Hill Plaza. Woodville Shopping Centre is another part of the suburb we are called to often.
Under Canterbury-Bankstown, we cover Chester Hill and Sefton, Villawood and Regents Park alike. Terraces, semis and converted blocks share cavities and risers, which is why a single-unit treatment often does not hold on its own.
The bulk of our Chester Hill work is older semis with a paved rear courtyard and a sub-floor that no longer dries out. Mention the detail when you call 1300 313 373 - it decides how long we need on site.
Chester Hill station and Sefton station are on the same round, which means every part of 2162 is within our area.
You get a confirmed time, not a window. We plan the 2162 run the day before, and if Sefton or Villawood is on the same round there is often an earlier slot going.
One at night is a cockroach. One at midday is a population. When harbourage fills up they are forced into the open to find somewhere else, which is why daytime activity changes how we scope the job.
They do not bite. What they do is walk through a drain and then over the surface you cut food on, which is a contamination problem - and the reason we treat the pipework and the harbourage, not just the floor.
The usual route into a Chester Hill home is carried, not crawled. Appliance deliveries, recycled cartons and second-hand white goods are the three we trace most often.
Knowing the species tells us where the nest is and which treatment will work. Two of these photos are from our own Sydney jobs.

Small, 12 to 15 mm, light brown, marked with two dark stripes behind the head. This is the indoor breeder: it wants warmth, food and damp, and a kitchen supplies all three.

Large and reddish-brown, up to about 4 cm. It lives in sewers, stormwater pits, grease traps and subfloors, and comes up through drains at night rather than breeding in the kitchen.

Similar in size to the American cockroach but with pale yellow edges near the head and along the wings. Despite the name it is an outdoor species that comes in from gardens, mulch and subfloors.

A small banded cockroach that favours warmth and dryness rather than moisture. Look for it high up: behind frames, inside electrical enclosures and in cupboards well away from the sink.

Photo from an Elite job: German cockroach activity found during a Sydney inspection. Droppings, cast skins and egg cases in the harbourage tell us the species and how established it is.

From an Elite commercial job: harbourage found inside kitchen equipment. The motor housing, the door seal and the hollow leg hold warmth after close and almost never get cleaned out.
Where and when you see them is often a better clue than size. Use this to tell us what you are seeing when you call.
| What you see | Likely species | Where the nest usually is | What treatment focuses on |
|---|---|---|---|
| Little ones out on the bench while the lights are on, with gritty black specks in cupboard corners | German cockroach - daytime activity means a large population | Cupboard hinges, the warm cavities behind the dishwasher and fridge, under kickboards, inside appliance housings | Rotated gel baits, an insect growth regulator, and product worked into cracks and crevices |
| Large cockroaches turning up at night around wet areas, usually one at a time | American cockroach | The pit system, the subfloor, and any floor-waste trap that has lost its water seal | Pit and drain work, subfloor treatment, and closing off pipe penetrations |
| Large ones marked with yellow near the head, found in the garage or wandering in from the yard | Australian cockroach | Mulched beds, leaf litter, woodpiles, and the roof space above | Work outside: the perimeter, the roof void, and the harbourage in the garden itself |
| Small cockroaches found upstairs or in bedrooms rather than around the sink | Brown-banded cockroach | Dry, warm furniture and the inside of electrical appliances | Targeted bait placement through living and sleeping spaces |
| Cockroaches that always come back to the flat no matter how well you treat your own kitchen | German cockroach moving around the block | Shared service risers, the bin room, and cavities inside the party walls | Treating the whole building together. See strata pest control |

One call to a licensed Sydney technician gets you honest advice and a fixed quote within 30 minutes.
Each German cockroach egg case carries roughly 30 eggs and stays with the female almost until they hatch. Surface sprays never reach it, so the following generation arrives regardless.
Multiply several egg cases per female by nymphs that mature in a few warm weeks and you have the reason a minor sighting turns into an infestation.
Supermarket sprays and bombs repel. The colony moves further into the cavity, or next door, and your benchtops end up with residue on them.
Cockroach droppings, saliva and cast skins are recognised triggers for allergies and asthma, so a lingering infestation is a health issue as well as a nuisance.
What the technician does on the day, in the order it happens.
First we establish which cockroach it is, then map where it lives - torch and mirror into hinges, motor cavities, behind kickboards and into wall voids. Everything after this depends on that map.
Grease and food residue keep a colony going, so we show you the spots that matter most. Bait only wins if it is the best meal in the room.
Small dots of professional gel bait go into the cracks cockroaches travel through. They eat, return to harbourage and the effect passes through the population.
An insect growth regulator stops nymphs becoming breeding adults, and dust goes into wall voids and cavities where gel cannot reach.
With American and Australian cockroaches the work is outside the kitchen: the pits, the floor wastes, the subfloor and the roof void, because that is where they breed.
A written summary comes with the job. Heavy activity still there after two weeks, or a return within 6 months of a general treatment, and we come back for nothing.
Some DIY options help with a few stray cockroaches. An established German cockroach colony is a different job.
| Method | What it does well | Where it falls short |
|---|---|---|
| Aerosol surface spray | Takes care of the one in front of you | Does nothing to egg cases or voids, and drives the rest deeper into the walls |
| Bug bombs and foggers | Covers a whole room's open surfaces at once | Harbourage is untouched, benches end up with residue, and the population spreads out |
| Retail bait stations | Useful for a light problem | Low bait volume, and easily out-competed by crumbs and grease |
| Professional gel bait rotation | Eaten and shared in the hiding places; formulations can be rotated if cockroaches avoid one | Needs a clean kitchen and time to work, usually days to a couple of weeks |
| Insect growth regulator | Prevents the young reaching breeding age, which ends the egg-case cycle | Slow by design, so we never use it on its own - it goes in with bait |
Ten minutes of preparation lets the bait reach more cockroaches.
You may see cockroaches out in daylight, moving slowly or dying on the floor. This is the bait and growth regulator starting to work. Sweep them up and keep going.
Activity should fall steadily. Leave bait spots in hinges and cracks alone, and avoid spraying your own insecticide over them, which can make cockroaches refuse the bait.
Still seeing them? Tell the agent or building manager, since the source is often a neighbouring lot. Apartment pest control explains what a building-wide job involves.
If you still see steady activity after two weeks, or cockroaches return within 6 months of a general treatment, call 1300 313 373 for a warranty re-treatment.
Floor wastes, overflow pipes and the gap where a waste pipe passes through a cupboard base are all cockroach routes. A dry floor waste in a Chester Hill laundry is an open door, and a cup of water down it once a week closes it.
For a Chester Hill cafe or restaurant the standard is different: a documented program, a site plan with numbered monitoring points, and a report an auditor will accept. We work to that rather than turning up with a spray pack.
Sydney does not give cockroaches an off-season. Around Chester Hill the warm, humid stretch from October through March drives breeding hardest, but a heated Canterbury-Bankstown home keeps a kitchen population going through winter without pause.
German cockroaches get baits and growth regulators, and drain species get pit and subfloor work. The species decides the treatment.
We bait into cracks and hinges instead of spraying benchtops, because that is where food is prepared.
Apartments through to commercial kitchens, with food businesses serviced when they are closed.
Six months on a general treatment - if they come back inside it, so do we, at no charge.

Get a Free QuoteA cockroach treatment starts from $89. Two things move it: how big the place is, and how far it has already spread. We work that out on the phone or on site and tell you the figure before anything starts in Chester Hill. Every general treatment carries a 6-month warranty.
At roughly 18.9 km west of the city, Chester Hill is on a route we run regularly. Same-day attendance is usually available. You will be given a time, not a window.
Joined housing is the reason. Where walls, roof voids and sub-floors are continuous between properties, cockroaches are a street-level problem rather than a house-level one.
Joined housing with ageing drainage. That combination decides where product goes far more than the floor plan does.
We do all of those. A good share of the Chester Hill jobs we run are tenanted or strata properties, so the written record comes as standard.
It is, as long as you follow what we tell you on the day - usually keeping off treated surfaces for a couple of hours. Let us know at booking about young children, pets or an aquarium.
Normally you can stay. Some treatments mean keeping out of a particular room briefly, and we will flag that when we arrive so you can plan around it.
For a standard Chester Hill home, one to two hours. We would rather tell you it will take longer up front than rush it.
Every general treatment carries a 6-month warranty. So if they turn up again within the warranty, ring us and we will attend.
All of them. Chester Hill sits alongside Sefton, Villawood, Regents Park and Birrong in our coverage, and they are serviced on the same schedule.
