What we cover in Londonderry, and how quickly we can get there.
Postcode 2753 covers Londonderry and the streets immediately around it. At about 50.2 km north-west of the CBD it falls in the Penrith & the Outer West, where we have vans out daily. We travel out to Londonderry on planned runs through the Penrith & the Outer West, so booking a day ahead gets you the best slot.
Around Londonderry we are most often near Londonderry Park and Agnes Banks Nature Reserve.
Penrith City and Hawkesbury is the council area for Londonderry, and we treat Berkshire Park, Llandilo and Windsor Downs on the same schedule. Bigger properties mean sheds, stables and stacked timber to check as well as the house.
What we see in Londonderry is acreage properties with outbuildings that need checking alongside the house. Describing it accurately when you book saves a second visit.
Every part of 2753 is covered as standard.
When you book, we confirm the 2753 run the day before and give you an arrival time rather than a window. If we are already out at Berkshire Park or Llandilo that morning, we will usually offer you the earlier slot.
Remove the water and you remove most of the harbourage value. We point out the damp spots in a Londonderry kitchen for that reason, not as a criticism of the cleaning.
Think of it as two populations: the adults you see, and the eggs you do not. Clear the first in a Londonderry kitchen and the second hatches on schedule about ten weeks later, which is why one-off treatments never hold.
Cockroaches want warmth, moisture and a tight space. In most Londonderry kitchens that is the motor cavity of the fridge or dishwasher, the void behind the splashback, and the gap where the benchtop meets the wall. That is where the gel goes.
Knowing the species tells us where the nest is and which treatment will work. Two of these photos are from our own Sydney jobs.

Small, 12 to 15 mm, light brown, marked with two dark stripes behind the head. This is the indoor breeder: it wants warmth, food and damp, and a kitchen supplies all three.

Large and reddish-brown, up to about 4 cm. It lives in sewers, stormwater pits, grease traps and subfloors, and comes up through drains at night rather than breeding in the kitchen.

As big as the American but marked with pale yellow along the edge of the wings and behind the head. The name misleads: this one lives outside in mulch and garden beds and only comes indoors to look about.

A small species with pale bands across the body that prefers warm, dry spots higher up, such as behind picture frames, in electrical housings and inside cupboards away from water.

An Elite inspection photo showing German cockroach activity in Sydney. What we look for is the evidence - droppings, cast skins, egg cases - because it identifies the species and how long it has been there.

An Elite photo of cockroaches living inside commercial equipment. Warm motor cavities, perished door seals and hollow legs are the three places we open first on a kitchen job.
Where and when you see them is often a better clue than size. Use this to tell us what you are seeing when you call.
| What you see | Likely species | Where the nest usually is | What treatment focuses on |
|---|---|---|---|
| Small cockroaches in the kitchen during the day, plus pepper-like droppings in cupboard corners | German cockroach, usually a heavy infestation | Hinges, dishwasher and fridge cavities, behind the kickboards, inside appliances | Gel bait rotation, growth regulator and crack-and-crevice treatment inside |
| A single big one after dark by the laundry tub, the bathroom or a floor drain | American cockroach | Stormwater and sewer pits, the space under the floor, floor wastes that have dried out | Treating the pits and drains, the subfloor, and sealing the gaps where pipes pass through |
| Big yellow-margined cockroaches that seem to come from the garden rather than the kitchen | Australian cockroach | Garden mulch, leaf litter and woodpiles, plus the roof cavity | Treating outside: the perimeter, the roof void, and the harbourage in the beds themselves |
| Small cockroaches found upstairs or in bedrooms rather than around the sink | Brown-banded cockroach | Dry, warm furniture and the inside of electrical appliances | Targeted bait placement through living and sleeping spaces |
| An apartment where they come back a few weeks after you treated it yourself | German cockroach travelling between lots | The service risers, the bin room and the wall cavities the units share | Treating the building as one job. See strata pest control |

A licensed Sydney technician will talk it through with you and give you a fixed quote within half an hour.
A German cockroach egg case holds about 30 eggs and travels with the female until hatching is close. Kill the adults you can see and the next generation still arrives.
Multiply several egg cases per female by nymphs that mature in a few warm weeks and you have the reason a minor sighting turns into an infestation.
A repellent product scatters rather than clears - deeper into the wall void, through to the unit next door - and leaves residue where food is prepared.
The allergen load - droppings, saliva, cast skins - is a recognised trigger for asthma and allergies, which is why clearing an infestation properly matters beyond the nuisance.
What the technician does on the day, in the order it happens.
First we establish which cockroach it is, then map where it lives - torch and mirror into hinges, motor cavities, behind kickboards and into wall voids. Everything after this depends on that map.
Grease and food residue keep a colony going, so we show you the spots that matter most. Bait only wins if it is the best meal in the room.
Professional gel goes down as small dots inside the cracks they already use. A cockroach feeds, goes home, and the product moves through the rest of the colony from there.
A growth regulator shuts down the next generation, and dust goes into the voids and cavities where gel simply cannot be placed.
Pits, floor wastes, the subfloor and the roof void get treated for the American and Australian species - they come in from there, so that is where it has to be done.
Everything is recorded in writing. Still seeing heavy activity after a fortnight, or it returns inside the 6-month warranty on a general treatment? We return at no cost.
Some DIY options help with a few stray cockroaches. An established German cockroach colony is a different job.
| Method | What it does well | Where it falls short |
|---|---|---|
| Aerosol surface spray | Kills on contact, so the visible one goes | Cannot reach an egg case or a void, and repels the remainder into the walls |
| Bug bombs and foggers | Treats the exposed surfaces of a room in one go | Nothing reaches the hiding places, residue settles on food surfaces, and the colony scatters |
| Retail bait stations | Has a place when you have only seen one or two | Very little bait in each, and any crumbs or grease will out-compete it |
| Professional gel bait rotation | Taken back into the harbourage and passed on; we can change formulation if they go off one | Wants a clean kitchen behind it, and takes days to a fortnight rather than minutes |
| Insect growth regulator | Prevents nymphs maturing, so the cycle of egg cases stops | Slow on its own, which is why it is never used without bait |
Ten minutes of preparation lets the bait reach more cockroaches.
You may see cockroaches out in daylight, moving slowly or dying on the floor. This is the bait and growth regulator starting to work. Sweep them up and keep going.
Expect activity to taper off. The bait dots in hinges and cracks need to stay put, and nothing should be sprayed over them - that is what makes cockroaches avoid bait.
Tell your agent or building manager if activity continues, as cockroaches often travel between lots. Our apartment pest control page explains building-wide options.
Ring 1300 313 373 for a warranty re-treatment if steady activity continues past two weeks, or if cockroaches return within 6 months of a general treatment.
Cockroaches do not respect a lease boundary. In a Londonderry block they move through service risers, shared drains and the cavity between units, so treating one kitchen in a building with a problem is money spent on a holding pattern.
Council officers want records, not reassurance. For food premises around Londonderry we provide the treatment schedule, the products used, the monitoring point locations and the findings from each visit, in a form you can hand over.
A good share of our Londonderry work sits close to Agnes Banks Nature Reserve, though the back streets and the Berkshire Park boundary are just as familiar.
Treatment follows identification. Indoor German cockroaches need bait and a growth regulator; drain-dwelling species need the pits and subfloor treated.
Bait placed in cracks and hinges, not a blanket spray over food preparation surfaces.
Single units through to commercial kitchens, with food premises worked outside trading hours.
Cockroaches back within 6 months of a general treatment? We return at no charge.

Get a Free QuoteA cockroach treatment starts from $89. We quote on the property rather than the postcode, so a unit in Londonderry and a large house are priced differently. The figure is fixed before any work starts. Every general treatment carries a 6-month warranty.
We cover it on scheduled runs, so a day's notice gets you the best slot. Londonderry sits roughly 50.2 km north-west of the CBD, inside our Penrith & the Outer West run, so we book a time and keep to it.
On a rural-fringe block the surrounding land is doing the work - paddock, timber, sheds - and the house is the last step rather than the first.
Bigger properties with sheds and open ground, where the source is usually outside the house.
Yes. We work in houses, units, strata blocks, rentals and commercial premises across Londonderry 2753, and we provide the written report agents and strata managers ask for.
Yes. The products are registered for this use and applied at label rates, and placement keeps them away from where children and animals go. Let us know at booking about pets, fish tanks or anyone with asthma and we will plan the visit around it.
You do not normally need to leave. Anything requiring an empty room is short, and you will know about it before the work starts.
Allow an hour to two hours for most properties. A bigger building, or one where the problem has spread, takes longer - and we would rather tell you that when quoting than rush it.
Every general treatment carries a 6-month warranty. If activity continues past the expected period, call us and we will come back.
