Spider Control in Barangaroo 2000 — local technicians, fixed prices and a written report. Spider treatment starts from $89.
Real, verified feedback from people we've helped — straight from Google.
Local technicians, fixed prices and a written report for every job in Barangaroo.
We treat spiders right across 2000. Barangaroo is roughly 0.9 km north-west of the city, which puts it well inside the Sydney CBD & Inner City run our technicians work. Our technicians are through Barangaroo most days, so same-day attendance is usually available.
A lot of our Barangaroo jobs are in the streets around Westfield 111 Castlereagh and Wynyard station, and we are out near Barangaroo station regularly enough that the technician usually knows the access before they arrive.
We cover Millers Point, The Rocks and Pyrmont on the same runs as Barangaroo, which helps when spider problems are moving between neighbouring properties. Apartment stock means shared services, so a single-unit treatment holds only if the rest of the building is not feeding it.
The spider calls we take from Barangaroo are mostly units in towers where the kitchen backs onto shared services. If yours is one of them, mention it when you ring 1300 313 373 - it changes what the technician brings.
Our Barangaroo runs also take in Wynyard Park and the area near Observatory Hill Park, so the whole postcode is served.
Bookings for 2000 are confirmed the day before with a set arrival time, not an all-day window. Jobs at Millers Point and The Rocks often share the same run, which is how earlier slots come up.
Redbacks want dry, sheltered, undisturbed spots - the underside of outdoor furniture, pot rims, letterboxes, the shed, the meter box. Around Barangaroo that is where we concentrate rather than on the house walls.
Huntsmen come inside for shelter when it gets hot or wet, not to nest. Seal the gaps under external doors on a Barangaroo house and the number you find indoors drops noticeably.
Activity climbs through spring and peaks in the warm, humid months. Funnel-web wandering is worst after heavy summer rain, which is also when Barangaroo households find them indoors.
Two of these warrant real care. The rest are mostly a nuisance, but they are why webs reappear.

A glossy black spider 2 to 4 cm long, living in a silk-lined burrow in cool sheltered ground beneath rocks, logs and houses. Males wander through summer and autumn looking for females, and any bite is a medical emergency.

Females are black with a red dorsal stripe, spinning untidy webs in dry sheltered places - beneath outdoor chairs, in letterboxes, under pot rims, on pool fences and in sheds. A bite can be severely painful and needs medical advice.

A dark, stocky spider whose lacy funnel-shaped webs appear in window frames, brick gaps and eaves. Timid by nature, though the webs gather dust and come back fast if untreated.

Slim and dark with a pale-tipped abdomen, this one hunts rather than webs. It comes indoors at night after other spiders, sometimes into bedding and clothing. Bites hurt, but a large study found no ulcers.

The big flat fast one, found under bark, in wall cavities and behind curtains. Startling but shy. It hunts rather than spinning webs, so controlling the insects it eats means fewer come back.

Taken on an Elite inspection in Sydney: a huntsman found outside. The eaves, window heads, meter boxes and garden edges are all checked before treatment starts.

| Spider | Risk | First aid | Get help |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sydney funnel-web | Venom acting on the nervous system, potentially lethal | A pressure immobilisation bandage as for snake bite, with the person kept still | Call 000 immediately |
| Mouse spider | Bites are rare, but the venom can act like funnel-web venom in some cases | Any bite from a large black spider gets funnel-web first aid: pressure immobilisation | Call 000 immediately |
| Redback | Increasingly severe pain, sweating and feeling unwell; antivenom exists | Do NOT apply a pressure bandage. Wash the area, then a cloth-wrapped cold pack | Seek medical care if pain is severe or symptoms develop |
| White-tailed spider | A painful bite with local redness and itching; a study of 130 confirmed bites found no ulcers | Wash the bite and apply a cold pack | See a doctor if symptoms worsen or persist |
| Black house spider, huntsman and others | Usually limited to pain and swelling at the site | Wash the area, then a cold pack | See a doctor if you feel unwell or symptoms persist |
If you are not sure what bit you and it was a large black spider, assume funnel-web and call 000. A pest treatment reduces spider numbers; it cannot guarantee a funnel-web will never wander in.

The Australian Museum records male funnel-webs leaving their burrows mainly through summer and autumn to find females - the period when encounters peak.
Humid nights after rainfall bring the males out. They take shelter in shoes left outdoors, in laundry on the floor, in garages and under doors.
A wandering male that falls into a pool can survive many hours submerged. Always remove it with the skimmer net, never by hand.
From the Central Coast down to the Georges River, and west to around Baulkham Hills - mostly in the bushier, more sheltered suburbs.
Outside first, because that is where most spiders live and breed.
Together we walk the property, checking the eaves, window frames, fences, rockeries, retaining walls, subfloor vents and garden edges.
We brush webs and egg sacs off the eaves, pergolas, outdoor furniture and garages, so no spiderlings hatch into the area we have treated.
Residual product covers external walls, eaves, window and door frames, weep holes and the spots spiders rest in.
On a property with funnel-web risk the cool sheltered ground against the house is treated too: rockeries, retaining walls, sleepers, subfloor edges.
Inside, we spot treat corners, skirting and wardrobes as needed, and dust the roof void and subfloor where access allows.

Hunting spiders such as huntsmen and white-tails, which touch fewer surfaces. Controlling the insects and spiders they eat helps reduce them over time.
That a wandering male will never cross the yard on a humid night. What treatment does is reduce harbourage near the house; first aid knowledge and simple habits still matter.
Garden orb weavers that string webs across paths are harmless. We remove webs near doors and walkways, but leaving some in the garden helps control flying insects.
Simple habits that matter most in funnel-web and redback country.
| Season | What spiders are doing | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Spring (Sept to Nov) | Hatching egg sacs, with webs appearing fast on eaves and fences | Get a treatment booked and webs cleared before spiderlings spread |
| Summer (Dec to Feb) | Funnel-web males start wandering; redbacks active around outdoor furniture | Check pools, shoes and outdoor areas; keep door seals in place |
| Autumn (Mar to May) | Wandering continues among funnel-webs, most of all after rain | Take care on humid nights and wear gloves when gardening |
| Winter (Jun to Aug) | Fewer webs outside, and huntsmen move indoors and into cars | The right time for pest-proofing gaps ahead of spring |
Funnel-webs regularly end up in pools and survive hours underwater. Do not assume one floating in a Barangaroo pool is dead.
Treatment reduces risk; it does not remove the need for habits. Children should know not to pick spiders up and not to reach into a pool or a woodpile by hand.
Anywhere in Barangaroo is the same price and the same response, whether it backs onto reserve or sits in the middle of the suburb.
We tell you what we found and what each species means for the people living there.
We treat the ground harbourage beside the house as well as the eaves.
Clear advice on what a treatment can do, including for wandering funnel-web males.
A general spider treatment carries 6 months. If webs rebuild inside that, so do we.

Get a Free QuoteSpider treatment starts from $89. We quote on the property rather than the postcode, so a unit in Barangaroo and a large house are priced differently. The figure is fixed before any work starts. Every general treatment carries a 6-month warranty.
Same-day attendance is usually available. Barangaroo sits roughly 0.9 km north-west of the CBD, inside our Sydney CBD & Inner City run, so we book a time and keep to it.
Density is the whole answer. Shared walls, shared risers and shared bins mean spiders move between lots freely, which is why single-unit treatments here often do not hold.
Unit stock, so the method is gels and baits placed into cavities rather than anything sprayed across shared surfaces.
Yes. Houses, townhouses, units, strata common property, rentals and commercial sites in Barangaroo 2000 are all part of what we do, and the paperwork is the kind agents accept.
It is, applied properly. We put product into cracks, voids and stations rather than across open surfaces, and we will tell you what to stay off and for how long before we leave.
In most cases you can stay. Where an area does need to be left clear it is for a couple of hours at most, and we say so before we start.
Between one and two hours covers the majority of jobs. We do not book so tightly that a technician has to cut a job short.
Every general treatment carries a 6-month warranty. If activity continues past the expected period, call us and we will come back.
Yes. As well as Barangaroo we cover Millers Point, The Rocks, Pyrmont and Sydney on the same runs, so a job that crosses a boundary can be handled in one visit.
