Repairing the damage
Hold the repairs until elimination is confirmed - taking out the timber early removes the bait. Then have a builder assess the structural members, bearers and studs and roof timbers included.

Postcode 2046 covers Chiswick and the streets immediately around it. At about 7 km west of the CBD it falls in the Inner West, where we have vans out daily. Our technicians are through Chiswick most days, so same-day attendance is usually available.
Most weeks we are somewhere between Massey Park Golf Course and Allison Park in Chiswick, and Parramatta River Regional Park is close enough to be on the same run.
This is the Inner West, Burwood, Strathfield and Canada Bay area, and our runs here also take in Wareemba, Abbotsford and Russell Lea. Terraces, semis and converted blocks share cavities and risers, which is why a single-unit treatment often does not hold on its own.
The termite calls we take from Chiswick are mostly older semis with a paved rear courtyard and a sub-floor that no longer dries out. If yours is one of them, mention it when you ring 1300 313 373 - it changes what the technician brings.
Wherever you are in 2046, you are inside the area our technicians cover.
You get a confirmed time, not a window. We plan the 2046 run the day before, and if Wareemba or Abbotsford is on the same round there is often an earlier slot going.
Storm, fire and flood are covered. Termites are not, anywhere in Australia. A Chiswick repair bill lands entirely on the owner, which is why the cheapest termite money you will ever spend is the inspection.
Anything that puts soil or timber against the structure is a bridge - planter boxes, sleeper walls, firewood stacked on the ground. Clearing those does more for a Chiswick home than most products.
Coptotermes is the species that does most of the structural damage in Sydney, and it can nest inside a tree or a wall cavity as well as in soil. Identifying what is in the workings decides the Chiswick treatment.
Photos from our own Sydney termite jobs. Most properties need one primary method, and some need two working together.

Stations set into the soil around the building. Once termites find the timber inside, it is swapped for bait they carry back to the nest, which is how the colony is eliminated.

Stations are opened on a schedule to check for feeding and top up bait. Missed checks are a common reason baiting programs stall.

Where we find them working in a frame or wall lining, bait goes on over the workings themselves and the colony begins feeding the same day.

A treated zone in the soil: termiticide trenched in along the footings, and injected through holes drilled in paving or slab where there is no open soil.

In suspended floors, the soil around piers and along the walls is included, because subfloors are where concealed activity very often begins.

You will be shown every piece of affected timber so a builder can price the repairs. Those repairs should wait until we have confirmed the colony is gone.
What you do in the first day or two affects how quickly the colony can be eliminated.
A can of spray takes out the ones you can see and sends the rest away from that spot - which removes the one place bait could have reached them.
Don't pull the workings apart. Exposed tubes dry and the colony retreats, which costs time on the treatment.
A few photos of the mud tubes, the affected timber or any winged insects, plus a note of where they were, lets us plan the visit properly.
Check what is wetting the soil nearby: taps, hot water overflow, condensate lines. That damp is part of why they are there.
Subterranean termites feed continuously, so waiting costs timber. Same-day and next-day inspections are available right across Sydney.
If you are in a unit or townhouse, activity in your lot usually touches common property - tell the strata manager early.

Both are recognised approaches for existing buildings under AS 3660.2. The right choice depends on your property.
| Consideration | Baiting system | Chemical soil barrier | Combination |
|---|---|---|---|
| The job it does | Wipes out the colony currently eating the building | Treats the soil around the building so anything crossing it is affected | Deals with the live colony, then protects against new arrivals |
| Installation | In-ground stations around the perimeter, with bait fixed to any live workings | A trench along the footings, plus drilling and injection where there is paving or slab | Baiting to start, and the soil work once the colony has gone |
| Impact on the site | Minimal - we neither drill the paths nor dig out the beds | Drilled holes in paving, sealed on completion, plus digging along the beds | Divided across a staged series of visits |
| Looking after it | Stations get opened on a schedule and remain as a monitoring system | Label and site determine the service life; it can be re-applied later | Station monitoring continues for as long as the barrier is in service |
| Suits | Active termites, heavily paved sites, or where chemical use needs limiting | Homes with good access to soil around the footings | Heavy activity, repeat attacks or high-risk sites near bushland |

Termite treatment is a program over several visits, not a one-off spray.
Species confirmed, workings traced, and the roof void, subfloor and garden inspected to find where the nest and entry points are.
Everything goes in writing before we start - method, treatment areas, products and the follow-up schedule - at a fixed price.
Treatment goes where the termites actually are - bait on the workings or in stations, or termiticide in the travelled soil.
Return visits carry on until there is no activity left, with bait checked and refilled at each. The duration comes down to colony size and season.
Elimination is not protection. We recommend a soil barrier, continued station monitoring, or both, so a fresh colony does not simply replace the last one.
A written record of every product and location, and a date for the next timber pest inspection.
Treatment starts from $179. Your fixed quote comes after we've seen the activity.
| Factor | Why it changes the price |
|---|---|
| Where the activity is | Termites in one door frame need far less work than activity spread through a subfloor and wall frames |
| Which method is used | Above-ground bait, in-ground stations and a full soil barrier each take different product and labour |
| Perimeter size and access | A long perimeter, a tight subfloor or a narrow side passage all add hours |
| Paving and slabs | Where a path, patio or garage slab has to be drilled and injected, it takes longer than open ground |
| Follow-up visits | Baiting needs return visits until the colony is gone, and larger colonies can need more of them |
| Kind of property | Strata, commercial and extended homes - including granny flats - are individually scoped |
For typical scenarios, read how much termite treatment costs in Sydney. Warranty terms for termite work are confirmed in writing with your quote.
Hold the repairs until elimination is confirmed - taking out the timber early removes the bait. Then have a builder assess the structural members, bearers and studs and roof timbers included.
The in-ground stations are flush to the soil with locking lids. Leave them where they are - not buried in mulch, not concreted over - and tell us before any landscaping so we can relocate them.
Treated soil works best left undisturbed. New garden beds, pavers or a deck against the house can break the treated zone, so call us before those works.
AS 3660.2 sets the baseline at inspections every 12 months or better, more often on high-risk sites. A regular inspection is the only thing that catches a new attack early.
Treatment removes the colony. These property conditions attract the next one, and most are cheap to fix.
Termite pressure is not even across Sydney and it is not even across Chiswick either. Blocks with mature trees, poor drainage or timber retaining are the ones worth watching.
Termites will nest inside a living tree. If there is a mature gum close to a Chiswick house, that is worth including in the inspection rather than assuming the risk is only in the soil.
We are around Parramatta River Regional Park and the surrounding streets regularly, and we inspect every address in 2046 - including the ones the big franchises will not travel to.

Source first, method second. Spraying the termites in front of you leaves the colony untouched.
Products, areas treated and follow-up visits recorded for your files, insurer or a future buyer.
The program includes its own follow-ups, so baiting is never left part-done.

At roughly 7 km west of the city, Chiswick is on a route we run regularly. Same-day attendance is usually available. You will be given a time, not a window.
Older inner suburbs combine shared structure with ageing drainage, and termites exploit both. Rear courtyards that have been paved over make it worse by trapping damp against the walls.
Joined housing with ageing drainage. That combination decides where product goes far more than the floor plan does.
We do all of those. A good share of the Chiswick jobs we run are tenanted or strata properties, so the written record comes as standard.
Yes, when it is applied properly. We use registered products at label rates and tell you which areas to keep clear and for how long. Mention pets, fish tanks or allergies when you book.
You do not normally need to leave. Anything requiring an empty room is short, and you will know about it before the work starts.
Allow one to two hours for a typical Chiswick property. Larger homes, or ones where the problem has spread, take longer and we will say so when we quote.
Treatments carry a 6-month warranty and we re-inspect annually. So if they turn up again within the warranty, ring us and we will attend.
Yes. As well as Chiswick we cover Wareemba, Abbotsford, Russell Lea and Rodd Point on the same runs, so a job that crosses a boundary can be handled in one visit.
