Repairing the damage
Repairs come last. Until we confirm there is no activity, replacing timber can take away the bait the colony was feeding on. Structural timber - bearers, studs, roof members - needs a builder's assessment.

What we cover in Constitution Hill, and how quickly we can get there.
Postcode 2145 covers Constitution Hill and the streets immediately around it. At about 23.1 km west of the CBD it falls in the Hills District, where we have vans out daily. We run Constitution Hill on a regular route, and same-day attendance is usually available.
The Constitution Hill addresses we attend cluster around Wentworthville station and Richill Park. Otto Losco Reserve is another part of the suburb we are called to often.
Northmead, Westmead and Winston Hills are all on the same route as Constitution Hill. Backing onto bush means re-entry is the issue, so proofing and the perimeter do the real work here.
Around Constitution Hill the pattern is fairly consistent: houses backing onto a reserve, where the pressure is constant from outside. Tell us which it is on the phone and we will come prepared for it.
Westmead Shopping Village and the remainder of 2145 are on the same run.
The 2145 run is set the day before and you are given an arrival time. Where Northmead and Westmead fall on the same round, we can usually bring the visit forward.
If you find a mud tube on a Constitution Hill foundation, do not break it open. Disturbing the workings scatters the colony and makes the job harder; photograph it and leave it.
Tap along the skirting, the architraves and the door frames. Sound timber gives a solid note; timber eaten from inside gives a light, drum-like one. It is the cheapest check a Constitution Hill owner can do.
The rate is not the issue - the concealment is. By the time a cornice cracks or a skirting gives way, the colony has usually been feeding on that Constitution Hill frame for a long time.
Photos from our own Sydney termite jobs. Most properties need one primary method, and some need two working together.

Stations go into the ground around the building with timber inside. Termites locate it, we switch the timber for bait, and the colony is eliminated from the inside out.

The stations get opened, read and refilled on a regular cycle. Let that slip and the program stalls - it is the usual explanation for one that never completed.

Active workings in a door frame or wall cavity can take bait fixed directly over them. Feeding starts at once, which is the fastest way onto a colony.

Termiticide placed into the soil around the building - trenched where there is soil, injected through drilled holes where there is concrete - forming a treated zone termites have to cross.

Suspended floors get the subfloor done too: the soil at the piers and along the walls, because that is where concealed attacks most often begin.

The eaten timber is identified and recorded so a builder can quote. Hold the repairs until the colony is confirmed dead or you may remove what they are feeding on.
What you do in the first day or two affects how quickly the colony can be eliminated.
Surface spray and bombs are the worst thing to use here. The colony retreats from the treated area and you lose the access point we needed.
Leave mud tubes and damaged timber intact. Broken workings dry out and termites may retreat, which slows treatment.
A few photos of the mud tubes, the affected timber or any winged insects, plus a note of where they were, lets us plan the visit properly.
Check what is wetting the soil nearby: taps, hot water overflow, condensate lines. That damp is part of why they are there.
Don't sit on it. The colony keeps working, and we can usually inspect active termites the same or next day anywhere in Sydney.
If you are in a unit or townhouse, activity in your lot usually touches common property - tell the strata manager early.

Both are recognised approaches for existing buildings under AS 3660.2. The right choice depends on your property.
| Consideration | Baiting system | Chemical soil barrier | Combination |
|---|---|---|---|
| The job it does | Wipes out the colony currently eating the building | Treats the soil around the building so anything crossing it is affected | Deals with the live colony, then protects against new arrivals |
| How it goes in | Stations in the soil around the perimeter, plus bait on active workings | Trenching along footings, and drilling and injecting through paths and slabs | Bait first, then the soil treatment once the colony is gone |
| How intrusive it is | Low. Nothing drilled, nothing dug out of the garden | Paving gets small drill holes which are then sealed, and gardens get trenched | Spread over staged visits rather than one disruptive day |
| Ongoing maintenance | Regular scheduled station checks, which double as ongoing monitoring | How long it lasts comes down to the product label and the site, and it can be re-applied | The station checks carry on while the barrier does its job |
| Best suited to | Live activity, properties with a lot of paving, or where chemical use must be kept down | Houses with decent access to open soil along the footings | Serious activity, properties attacked before, or high-risk blocks near bush |

Termite treatment is a program over several visits, not a one-off spray.
Species confirmed, workings traced, and the roof void, subfloor and garden inspected to find where the nest and entry points are.
You receive a fixed quote that names the method, the areas, the products and the return visits required.
Treatment goes where the termites actually are - bait on the workings or in stations, or termiticide in the travelled soil.
Follow-up visits continue until activity has stopped, checking and topping up bait each time. Colony size and season set the timeline.
Elimination is not protection. We recommend a soil barrier, continued station monitoring, or both, so a fresh colony does not simply replace the last one.
You receive a written record of what was applied and where, plus a recommended date for your next timber pest inspection.
Treatment starts from $179. Your fixed quote comes after we've seen the activity.
| Factor | Why it changes the price |
|---|---|
| Where they are working | A single affected door frame is a small job; activity through the subfloor and wall frames is not |
| Method chosen | Above-ground baiting, in-ground stations and full soil barriers use different amounts of product and labour |
| Access and perimeter | Long footings, restricted subfloor height and narrow passages down the side all add labour |
| Paved areas | Any path, patio or garage slab needing drilling and injection adds time over open soil |
| Follow-up visits | Baiting needs return visits until the colony is gone, and larger colonies can need more of them |
| Property type | Strata buildings, commercial sites and homes that have been extended are each scoped separately |

Repairs come last. Until we confirm there is no activity, replacing timber can take away the bait the colony was feeding on. Structural timber - bearers, studs, roof members - needs a builder's assessment.
You will have in-ground stations sitting flush with locking lids. Keep them clear of mulch and concrete, leave them in place, and call before landscaping so we can relocate them.
A treated zone wants to be left alone. Building a garden bed, laying pavers or adding a deck against the house can breach it, so ring us before that work starts.
AS 3660.2 generally recommends inspections at least every 12 months, and more often in high-risk areas. After treatment, regular inspections are what catch a new colony early.
Treatment removes the colony. These property conditions attract the next one, and most are cheap to fix.
Termites will nest inside a living tree. If there is a mature gum close to a Constitution Hill house, that is worth including in the inspection rather than assuming the risk is only in the soil.
We are around Otto Losco Reserve and the surrounding streets regularly, and we inspect every address in 2145 - including the ones the big franchises will not travel to.
Termite pressure is not even across Sydney and it is not even across Constitution Hill either. Blocks with mature trees, poor drainage or timber retaining are the ones worth watching.

Finding the source comes before picking a treatment. Spraying the visible workers is not a plan.
Products, areas treated and follow-up visits recorded for your files, insurer or a future buyer.
Baiting only works if someone comes back, so the return visits are built into the program from the start.

Get a Free QuoteTermite treatment starts from $179 and a full timber pest inspection from $159. What changes the figure is the size of the building, how many areas are affected and the access. You get that number up front for Constitution Hill 2145, with no call-out fee. Treatments carry a 6-month warranty and we re-inspect annually.
At roughly 23.1 km west of the city, Constitution Hill is on a route we run regularly. Same-day attendance is usually available. You will be given a time, not a window.
Undisturbed ground, leaf litter and fallen timber right to the boundary mean termites are always established next to the house. Re-entry, not eradication, is what we are managing here.
Houses on larger, often sloping blocks with bush on at least one boundary, so the perimeter and the fence line are central to the job.
We do. A lot of our Constitution Hill work is rentals and strata, so the report, the products used and the areas treated are all recorded in writing for whoever needs them.
Yes. Everything we use is registered for the purpose and applied at label rates, and we place product where people and animals do not go. Tell us about pets, aquariums or anyone with a respiratory condition at booking.
Normally you can stay. Some treatments mean keeping out of a particular room briefly, and we will flag that when we arrive so you can plan around it.
Between one and two hours covers the majority of jobs. We do not book so tightly that a technician has to cut a job short.
Treatments carry a 6-month warranty and we re-inspect annually. A return visit inside that period does not cost you anything.
All of them. Constitution Hill sits alongside Northmead, Westmead, Winston Hills and Toongabbie in our coverage, and they are serviced on the same schedule.
