Repairing the damage
Repairs come last. Until we confirm there is no activity, replacing timber can take away the bait the colony was feeding on. Structural timber - bearers, studs, roof members - needs a builder's assessment.
Termite Control in Coogee 2034 — local technicians, fixed prices and a written report. Termite treatment starts from $179 and a full timber pest inspection from $159.

What we cover in Coogee, and how quickly we can get there.
Postcode 2034 covers Coogee and the streets immediately around it. At about 7 km south-east of the CBD it falls in the Eastern Suburbs, where we have vans out daily. Our technicians are through Coogee most days, so same-day attendance is usually available.
Around Coogee we work the pockets near Coogee Beach, Royal Randwick Shopping Centre and North Goldstein Reserve most often, so the van is rarely far away when a job comes in.
Waverley, Randwick and Woollahra is the council area for Coogee, and we treat Clovelly, Randwick and South Coogee on the same schedule. Salt air and sandy ground keep sub-floors damp here, and damp is what sustains a population.
Most Coogee bookings come in as unit blocks a street or two back from the water, plus the odd beachfront cafe. Say which one applies when you call 1300 313 373 and the technician will have the right products on the van.
The whole of 2034 is covered, Ernest Collins Reserve included.
When you book, we confirm the 2034 run the day before and give you an arrival time rather than a window. If we are already out at Clovelly or Randwick that morning, we will usually offer you the earlier slot.
Anything that puts soil or timber against the structure is a bridge - planter boxes, sleeper walls, firewood stacked on the ground. Clearing those does more for a Coogee home than most products.
A mature colony can run to a million workers and eat through structural timber steadily rather than dramatically. Most of the serious damage we find in Coogee homes accumulated over years in a wall nobody opened.
Anything with cellulose in it is food: the frame, yes, but also joinery, floorboards, the lining paper on plasterboard, and the boxes stacked in the garage.
Photos from our own Sydney termite jobs. Most properties need one primary method, and some need two working together.

Stations set into the soil around the building. Once termites find the timber inside, it is swapped for bait they carry back to the nest, which is how the colony is eliminated.

Every station is opened on a set schedule so feeding can be assessed and bait replenished. Programs that fail usually failed because the checks lapsed.

If there is active work inside a wall or architrave, we can mount bait straight onto it, which puts the colony onto bait immediately rather than waiting for them to find a station.

Termiticide placed into the soil around the building - trenched where there is soil, injected through drilled holes where there is concrete - forming a treated zone termites have to cross.

With a suspended floor the piers and wall lines are part of the job. Most concealed termite activity we find started under the house.

We show you where timber has been eaten so a builder can assess repairs, which should wait until the colony is confirmed dead.
What you do in the first day or two affects how quickly the colony can be eliminated.
Surface spray and bombs are the worst thing to use here. The colony retreats from the treated area and you lose the access point we needed.
Tempting as it is, leave the workings whole. A broken tube dries, the termites pull back, and we lose the active site.
Photos help. Mud tubes, eaten timber, winged termites, and a note of the location, all make the visit more efficient.
Look around for water - leaks, overflow pipes, the air conditioner drip. Termites want damp soil, and treating without fixing it leaves the attraction in place.
They do not stop while you think about it. We hold same-day and next-day slots across Sydney for active termites.
Activity in one lot of a strata building is rarely confined to that lot. Let the strata manager know as soon as you find it.
One call to a licensed Sydney technician gets you straight advice and a fixed quote within 30 minutes.
Both are recognised approaches for existing buildings under AS 3660.2. The right choice depends on your property.
| Consideration | Baiting system | Chemical soil barrier | Combination |
|---|---|---|---|
| Purpose | Elimination of the colony feeding on the structure | A treated band of soil that affects termites travelling through it | Both: the active colony goes, and new ones are deterred |
| Method of install | Soil stations round the perimeter and bait onto the workings themselves | Trenching at the footings with drilling and injection through hard surfaces | Bait phase first, soil barrier second |
| Disruption to the property | Very little - no paths drilled, no garden beds dug up | Small holes through paving, sealed afterwards, and trenching along garden beds | Shared out over several staged visits |
| What it needs afterwards | The stations are checked on schedule and stay in place as monitoring | Service life is set by the product label and the site conditions; re-application is possible | Stations keep being checked alongside the working barrier |
| Typically chosen for | Active termites, sites under extensive paving, or where chemical input must be minimised | Properties where there is good access to the soil at the footings | Heavy activity, a history of attacks, or a high-risk bushland block |
Want more detail? Our guide to chemical, physical and baiting systems compares them side by side.
Termite treatment is a program over several visits, not a one-off spray.
First the species, then the extent: we follow the mud tubing and workings and inspect the roof void, the subfloor and the garden for the nest and the way in.
The plan is written down and priced: method, areas treated, products used, follow-up visits included.
The active colony is treated either by baiting - directly on the workings or via in-ground stations - or by applying termiticide to the soil on their route.
Return visits carry on until there is no activity left, with bait checked and refilled at each. The duration comes down to colony size and season.
Once it is dead we talk about keeping the next one out - soil barrier, ongoing station checks, or both.
You get the paperwork - what went where - along with when the next timber pest inspection is due.
Treatment starts from $179. Your fixed quote comes after we've seen the activity.
| Factor | Why it changes the price |
|---|---|
| Location of the activity | Termites confined to one architrave take far less work than activity running through a subfloor and the wall framing |
| The approach taken | Bait above ground, stations in the ground and a complete soil barrier are not comparable on product or labour |
| Access and perimeter | Long footings, restricted subfloor height and narrow passages down the side all add labour |
| Hard surfaces | Drilling and injecting through paths, patios and garage slabs is slower than trenching open soil |
| Follow-up visits | Baiting needs return visits until the colony is gone, and larger colonies can need more of them |
| What sort of property | A strata block, a commercial site or a house with an extension or granny flat is quoted individually |

Repairs come last. Until we confirm there is no activity, replacing timber can take away the bait the colony was feeding on. Structural timber - bearers, studs, roof members - needs a builder's assessment.
Stations sit level with the soil and lock shut. They must not be moved, mulched over or paved across. If landscaping is coming, let us know first and we will relocate them.
A treated zone wants to be left alone. Building a garden bed, laying pavers or adding a deck against the house can breach it, so ring us before that work starts.
The standard, AS 3660.2, recommends an inspection at least annually and more frequently where risk is high. After a treatment, those inspections are how a new colony gets caught early.
Treatment removes the colony. These property conditions attract the next one, and most are cheap to fix.
The Eastern Suburbs has its own pattern - the properties backing onto reserve, gully or paddock see the most pressure, and those are the ones where an annual inspection genuinely earns its cost.
Colonies forage over a wide area underground - tens of metres - so a stump, a timber retaining wall or an untreated deck on the adjoining block feeds a colony that can reach your Coogee house.
Some species are destructive, some barely touch sound timber. We identify from the soldiers in the workings, because treating a Coogee home for the wrong one wastes the visit.
We hold NSW licence 5122967, and termite work is planned to AS 3660.2 for existing buildings.
Source first, method second. Spraying the termites in front of you leaves the colony untouched.
Everything is documented - products, treated areas, follow-up visits - for your records, your insurer or a future buyer.
Baiting only works if someone comes back, so the return visits are built into the program from the start.

Get a Free QuoteTermite treatment starts from $179 and a full timber pest inspection from $159. We quote on the property rather than the postcode, so a unit in Coogee and a large house are priced differently. The figure is fixed before any work starts. Treatments carry a 6-month warranty and we re-inspect annually.
Same-day attendance is usually available. Our Eastern Suburbs technicians cover Coogee daily, and you get a confirmed arrival time when you book.
Sandy ground drains fast but the humidity stays, which means the conditions under a house here suit termites in winter nearly as well as in summer.
A mix of unit blocks and houses, most with a damp sub-floor or a ground level that sits low - and that is usually where we concentrate.
We do all of those. A good share of the Coogee jobs we run are tenanted or strata properties, so the written record comes as standard.
It is, provided the instructions are followed. We will tell you what to keep clear of and for how long before we leave. Let us know about children, pets or fish tanks when you book.
You do not normally need to leave. Anything requiring an empty room is short, and you will know about it before the work starts.
An hour to two hours covers most jobs. The size of the building and the extent of the problem are what change it.
Treatments carry a 6-month warranty and we re-inspect annually. Call us if activity picks up again and we will arrange the return visit.
We cover the whole of Coogee, from the streets around Ernest Collins Reserve out to the suburb boundary and on into Clovelly.
