If you are in Bow Bowing or anywhere else in 2566, you are in our Macarthur patch, 38.1 km south-west of the CBD. We cover Bow Bowing on scheduled runs through the Macarthur, and we will give you a firm time rather than a window.
Most weeks we are somewhere between C C Murray Park and Coronation Park in Bow Bowing, and Minto Marketplace is close enough to be on the same run.
This is the Campbelltown and Camden area, and our runs here also take in St Andrews, Minto and Raby. Estate blocks are compact with narrow side passages, so access and the perimeter are where most of the work happens.
Most Bow Bowing bookings come in as recently built homes where the activity started at the boundary. Say which one applies when you call 1300 313 373 and the technician will have the right products on the van.
We cover the remainder of 2566 as well, from Eagle Vale Marketplace through to Minto station.
Your appointment is confirmed the day before with a real arrival time. Because St Andrews and Minto are covered on the same round, 2566 often has an earlier slot available.
They need three things: warmth, damp and somewhere tight to wedge into. In a Bow Bowing kitchen that describes the back of the fridge, the cavity behind the splashback and the joint where the bench meets the wall, and that is exactly where product has to go.
Think of it as two populations: the adults you see, and the eggs you do not. Clear the first in a Bow Bowing kitchen and the second hatches on schedule about ten weeks later, which is why one-off treatments never hold.
They are active all year indoors - a heated kitchen never really has a winter - but the rate of increase is seasonal. Treating in the cooler months means working against a slower population.
Knowing the species tells us where the nest is and which treatment will work. Two of these photos are from our own Sydney jobs.

Light brown with two dark stripes behind the head, roughly 12 to 15 mm long. It lives indoors near warmth, food and moisture, and it is the species that breeds fastest inside a kitchen.

The big reddish-brown one, reaching around 4 cm. Its home is the drain line, the grease trap, the stormwater pit or the subfloor - it visits the kitchen, it does not live there.

Similar in size to the American cockroach but with pale yellow edges near the head and along the wings. Despite the name it is an outdoor species that comes in from gardens, mulch and subfloors.

Small and marked with pale bands. It is the one that does not want water, so it settles high and dry - behind pictures, inside electrical housings, in the top cupboards.

An Elite inspection photo showing German cockroach activity in Sydney. What we look for is the evidence - droppings, cast skins, egg cases - because it identifies the species and how long it has been there.

An Elite photo of cockroaches living inside commercial equipment. Warm motor cavities, perished door seals and hollow legs are the three places we open first on a kitchen job.
Where and when you see them is often a better clue than size. Use this to tell us what you are seeing when you call.
| What you see | Likely species | Where the nest usually is | What treatment focuses on |
|---|---|---|---|
| Small cockroaches moving about in daylight, and droppings like ground pepper along shelf edges | German cockroach, well established by the time they show in the day | Door hinges, the voids behind white goods, the kickboard space, the inside of appliances | Indoor work: bait rotation, a growth regulator, and placement into every crack and crevice |
| Big cockroaches seen after dark near a floor waste, the bathroom or the laundry | American cockroach | Sewer and stormwater pits and the subfloor - plus dried-out waste traps as the way in | We treat the pits, the drain lines and the subfloor, then seal around the pipework |
| Sizeable cockroaches with pale edging that appear in the garage or at a back door | Australian cockroach | Leaf litter and mulch, stacked timber, and the roof cavity | Treating the perimeter, dusting the roof void, and reducing harbourage in the garden |
| Small ones in a bedroom or living room - behind a picture, inside the TV cabinet - not near water | Brown-banded cockroach | Furniture and electrical gear that stays warm and dry | Baiting aimed at the living and sleeping rooms rather than the kitchen |
| Cockroaches in a unit that keep returning weeks after your own treatment | German cockroach moving between units | Shared service risers, bin rooms and wall cavities | A coordinated building treatment. See strata pest control |

Roughly 30 eggs sit in a single case, and the female keeps it with her until it is nearly ready to hatch. Nothing you spray on a surface touches it.
Several egg cases per female, and nymphs maturing in weeks where it is warm - the arithmetic is why cockroach numbers climb so steeply once they are established.
Bombs and supermarket sprays push cockroaches deeper into wall voids and into the unit next door, and can contaminate the surfaces you prepare food on.
Droppings, saliva and shed skins are established asthma and allergy triggers. An infestation left in place is a health problem, not only an unpleasant one.
What the technician does on the day, in the order it happens.
Step one is knowing which cockroach you have. Step two is finding where it shelters: torch and inspection mirror through hinges, appliance cavities, kickboards and wall voids.
Grease and food residue keep a colony going, so we show you the spots that matter most. Bait only wins if it is the best meal in the room.
Rather than spray, we put small amounts of gel exactly where they travel. They eat and return to shelter, and that is how the treatment reaches the ones you never see.
The growth regulator keeps nymphs from ever breeding; dust handles the wall voids and cavities that no gel dot can reach.
For American and Australian cockroaches we treat pits, floor wastes, the subfloor and roof void, because those species live outside the kitchen and travel in.
You receive a written summary of what was found and done. Heavy activity after two weeks, or a return within the 6-month general-treatment warranty, brings us back free of charge.
Some DIY options help with a few stray cockroaches. An established German cockroach colony is a different job.
| Method | What it does well | Where it falls short |
|---|---|---|
| Aerosol surface spray | Works on a cockroach you can actually see | Egg cases and harbourage are untouched, and it repels the others further in |
| Bug bombs and foggers | Gets product onto every open surface at once | Harbourage is missed, benches end up with residue, and the colony splits up |
| Retail bait stations | Useful for a light problem | Low bait volume, and easily out-competed by crumbs and grease |
| Professional gel bait rotation | Taken into the harbourage and shared around; if they tire of one gel we change it | Needs the kitchen clean behind it, and works over days rather than hours |
| Insect growth regulator | Blocks nymphs from maturing into breeders and shuts the egg-case cycle down | Takes time to show, so it is always applied together with bait |
Ten minutes of preparation lets the bait reach more cockroaches.
Seeing more of them at first is expected. They come out, move slowly and die - the bait and growth regulator doing their job. Sweep up and leave everything else alone.
Numbers should drop away through this period. Do not wipe the bait out of hinges and cracks, and do not spray over it - cockroaches will stop taking bait that has been sprayed.
Where activity continues, raise it with your agent or strata manager, because they cross between lots. See apartment pest control for how a building-wide treatment runs.
Ring 1300 313 373 for a warranty re-treatment if steady activity continues past two weeks, or if cockroaches return within 6 months of a general treatment.
The pattern we see across Bow Bowing and the wider Macarthur is a surge after the first properly warm week, then steady pressure until autumn. Treating before that surge is far cheaper than treating after it.
For a Bow Bowing cafe or restaurant the standard is different: a documented program, a site plan with numbered monitoring points, and a report an auditor will accept. We work to that rather than turning up with a spray pack.
In older Bow Bowing buildings a cockroach population can live entirely in the drain line and come up at night. Treating the kitchen and ignoring the pipework means you are treating the visitors, not the residents.
Identify first, then treat: bait and growth regulator for German cockroaches, pit and subfloor work for the species that come up the drains.
Bait placed in cracks and hinges, not a blanket spray over food preparation surfaces.
We cover everything from one apartment to a full commercial kitchen, scheduled around your trading hours.
