What we cover in Milperra, and how quickly we can get there.
We treat cockroaches right across 2214. Milperra is roughly 22.6 km west of the city, which puts it well inside the Canterbury-Bankstown run our technicians work. We run Milperra on a regular route, and same-day attendance is usually available.
The Milperra addresses we attend cluster around East Hills station and Deepwater Park. Kelso Park North Sporting Complex is another part of the suburb we are called to often.
The suburb sits in the Canterbury-Bankstown area. Voyager Point, Hammondville and East Hills are all covered on the same day, so a problem that has spread across a boundary can be handled in one visit. Most of the housing here shares a wall, a roof void or a sub-floor with something else, so we check what adjoins the property rather than treating it in isolation.
The cockroach calls we take from Milperra are mostly older semis with a paved rear courtyard and a sub-floor that no longer dries out. If yours is one of them, mention it when you ring 1300 313 373 - it changes what the technician brings.
The rest of 2214 is covered too, including the pockets around Governor Macquarie Shopping Centre and Moorebank Shopping Village.
The 2214 run is set the day before and you are given an arrival time. Where Voyager Point and Hammondville fall on the same round, we can usually bring the visit forward.
One German cockroach egg case holds about forty young, and a female carries it until days before they hatch. That is why a kitchen in Milperra can look clear for a fortnight and then be worse than when you started. Kill the adults you can see and you have removed maybe a tenth of what is living behind the kickboards.
Find the harbourage and the job is most of the way done. We look for the places that stay warm overnight and are never cleaned: appliance housings, the underside of drawers, cable entries and the back of the kickboard.
The allergen is the part people underestimate. Cockroach droppings and shed skins are a recognised asthma trigger, and in a Milperra unit with an established population the load builds up in soft furnishings.
Knowing the species tells us where the nest is and which treatment will work. Two of these photos are from our own Sydney jobs.

Small, 12 to 15 mm, light brown, marked with two dark stripes behind the head. This is the indoor breeder: it wants warmth, food and damp, and a kitchen supplies all three.

Reddish-brown and as long as 4 cm. It belongs to the drainage system - sewers, stormwater pits, grease traps, the subfloor - and arrives in the kitchen overnight from there.

Similar in size to the American cockroach, told apart by the yellow margins at the head and wing edges. An outdoor species - gardens, mulch, the subfloor - that makes its way in.

A small species with pale bands across the body that prefers warm, dry spots higher up, such as behind picture frames, in electrical housings and inside cupboards away from water.

One of our Sydney inspections, showing German cockroach activity. The harbourage itself tells the story: droppings, cast skins and egg cases give us both the species and the scale.

Photo from an Elite job: cockroach harbourage inside commercial kitchen equipment. Motor housings, door seals and hollow legs stay warm overnight and are rarely cleaned.
Where and when you see them is often a better clue than size. Use this to tell us what you are seeing when you call.
| What you see | Likely species | Where the nest usually is | What treatment focuses on |
|---|---|---|---|
| A dozen small cockroaches on the bench in broad daylight, with dark specks in the cupboard corners | German cockroach, already a heavy infestation | The hinge of a cupboard door, behind the dishwasher and fridge, the kickboard void, inside appliances | Bait rotation and a growth regulator, applied into cracks and crevices right through the kitchen |
| A large cockroach or two after dark, always near a drain, the laundry or the bathroom | American cockroach | The sewer and stormwater pits, the subfloor, and floor-waste traps that have dried out | Pit and drain treatment, the subfloor, and sealing the gaps around pipe penetrations |
| Yellow-edged cockroaches in the garage, or coming through a door from the garden | Australian cockroach | Mulch and leaf litter, woodpiles, and the roof void | External perimeter, a dusting through the roof void, and clearing garden harbourage |
| Small cockroaches found upstairs or in bedrooms rather than around the sink | Brown-banded cockroach | Dry, warm furniture and the inside of electrical appliances | Targeted bait placement through living and sleeping spaces |
| A unit where the problem never quite ends, weeks after a DIY attempt | German cockroach spreading from a neighbouring lot | Shared risers and bin rooms, plus the cavities inside shared walls | A building-wide, coordinated treatment. See strata pest control |

A licensed Sydney technician will talk it through with you and give you a fixed quote within half an hour.
A German cockroach egg case holds around 30 eggs, and the female carries it until shortly before hatching. Killing adults on the surface leaves the next generation untouched.
Several egg cases per female, and nymphs maturing in weeks where it is warm - the arithmetic is why cockroach numbers climb so steeply once they are established.
Bombs and supermarket sprays push cockroaches deeper into wall voids and into the unit next door, and can contaminate the surfaces you prepare food on.
What they leave behind matters: droppings, saliva and cast skins are known asthma and allergy triggers, so this is a health question as much as a comfort one.
What the technician does on the day, in the order it happens.
We confirm the species and use a torch and inspection mirror to find harbourage: hinges, appliance housings, kickboards and wall voids. The treatment follows what we find, not a standard routine.
Where grease or food build-up is feeding the colony, we show you what to clean first. Bait works far better when it is the most attractive food in the room.
Small dots of professional gel bait go into the cracks cockroaches travel through. They eat, return to harbourage and the effect passes through the population.
A growth regulator prevents the young reaching breeding age, while dust treats the wall voids and cavities that gel placement cannot get into.
With American and Australian cockroaches the work is outside the kitchen: the pits, the floor wastes, the subfloor and the roof void, because that is where they breed.
We leave you a written record of the job. If it is still heavy at two weeks, or comes back inside the 6 months a general treatment carries, we return at no charge.
Some DIY options help with a few stray cockroaches. An established German cockroach colony is a different job.
| Method | What it does well | Where it falls short |
|---|---|---|
| Aerosol surface spray | Quick on a cockroach you can actually reach | No effect on egg cases or harbourage, and it pushes the others deeper into cavities |
| Bug bombs and foggers | Covers open surfaces in a room | Misses harbourage, leaves residue on benches, and can scatter the colony |
| Retail bait stations | Has a place when you have only seen one or two | Very little bait in each, and any crumbs or grease will out-compete it |
| Professional gel bait rotation | Carried home and shared where they shelter; if they start refusing one gel we rotate to another | Requires a clean kitchen and patience - days to a couple of weeks, not overnight |
| Insect growth regulator | Keeps nymphs from becoming breeding adults, so the egg-case cycle stops | It acts gradually, which is why it is always paired with a bait |
Ten minutes of preparation lets the bait reach more cockroaches.
Cockroaches coming out in daylight and moving sluggishly is the normal first sign. The bait and growth regulator are working. Sweep up what you find and carry on.
Numbers should drop away through this period. Do not wipe the bait out of hinges and cracks, and do not spray over it - cockroaches will stop taking bait that has been sprayed.
Where activity continues, raise it with your agent or strata manager, because they cross between lots. See apartment pest control for how a building-wide treatment runs.
Ring 1300 313 373 for a warranty re-treatment if steady activity continues past two weeks, or if cockroaches return within 6 months of a general treatment.
Sydney does not give cockroaches an off-season. Around Milperra the warm, humid stretch from October through March drives breeding hardest, but a heated Canterbury-Bankstown home keeps a kitchen population going through winter without pause.
For a Milperra cafe or restaurant the standard is different: a documented program, a site plan with numbered monitoring points, and a report an auditor will accept. We work to that rather than turning up with a spray pack.
We are around Governor Macquarie Shopping Centre and the streets behind it most weeks, and we cover every address in 2214, not just the main roads.
German cockroaches get baits and growth regulators, and drain species get pit and subfloor work. The species decides the treatment.
Bait placed in cracks and hinges, not a blanket spray over food preparation surfaces.
We cover everything from one apartment to a full commercial kitchen, scheduled around your trading hours.
If cockroaches return inside 6 months of a general treatment, we come back free of charge.

Get a Free QuoteA cockroach treatment starts from $89. Two things move it: how big the place is, and how far it has already spread. We work that out on the phone or on site and tell you the figure before anything starts in Milperra. Every general treatment carries a 6-month warranty.
Same-day attendance is usually available. Milperra sits roughly 22.6 km west of the CBD, inside our Canterbury-Bankstown run, so we book a time and keep to it.
Older inner suburbs combine shared structure with ageing drainage, and cockroaches exploit both. Rear courtyards that have been paved over make it worse by trapping damp against the walls.
Terraces and semis that share walls, roof voids and drainage - so we look at what the property adjoins before deciding where product goes.
Yes. We work in houses, units, strata blocks, rentals and commercial premises across Milperra 2214, and we provide the written report agents and strata managers ask for.
Yes. Everything we use is registered for the purpose and applied at label rates, and we place product where people and animals do not go. Tell us about pets, aquariums or anyone with a respiratory condition at booking.
In most cases you can stay. Where an area does need to be left clear it is for a couple of hours at most, and we say so before we start.
Most cockroach control jobs in a Milperra home take between one and two hours on site, depending on the size of the property and how much of it is affected.
Every general treatment carries a 6-month warranty. A return visit within the warranty period costs you nothing.
We do. Milperra and Voyager Point, Hammondville, East Hills and Panania are all on the same route, which helps if you own more than one property in the area.
