Cockroach Control in Northwood 2066 — local technicians, fixed prices and a written report. A cockroach treatment starts from $89.
Real, verified feedback from people we've helped — straight from Google.
Where Northwood sits, who covers it and what it costs.
Postcode 2066 covers Northwood and the streets immediately around it. At about 5.5 km north-west of the CBD it falls in the Lower North Shore, where we have vans out daily. Our technicians are through Northwood most days, so same-day attendance is usually available.
The Northwood addresses we attend cluster around Osborne Park and The Village Shopping Centre. Mall 88 is another part of the suburb we are called to often.
Under North Sydney, Mosman, Willoughby, Lane Cove and Hunters Hill, we cover Northwood and Greenwich, Osborne Park and Longueville alike. A lot of the housing here is older and close to the water, so sub-floors and lower levels hold damp - and damp is what keeps a population going.
The bulk of our Northwood work is waterfront and near-waterfront homes with damp sub-floors and mature gardens. Mention the detail when you call 1300 313 373 - it decides how long we need on site.
We also work the streets near Wollstonecraft station and across toward St Leonards station - the whole of 2066 is covered.
The 2066 run is set the day before and you are given an arrival time. Where Greenwich and Osborne Park fall on the same round, we can usually bring the visit forward.
People assume it is about crumbs. It is mostly about moisture. The leaking waste under a Northwood sink, condensation behind the fridge or a shower recess that never dries will hold a population on its own.
The whole job is finding where they shelter. We go looking for what stays warm overnight and never gets wiped: inside appliance housings, under drawer bases, around cable entries, behind the kickboard in a Northwood kitchen.
In older Northwood buildings a cockroach population can live entirely in the drain line and come up at night. Treating the kitchen and ignoring the pipework means you are treating the visitors, not the residents.
Knowing the species tells us where the nest is and which treatment will work. Two of these photos are from our own Sydney jobs.

Around 12 to 15 mm, light brown, two dark stripes running back from the head. It never really leaves the building - warmth, a food source and a little moisture keep it going, and it out-breeds every other cockroach in a kitchen.

The largest one we deal with, around 4 cm and reddish-brown. Pits, sewers, grease traps and subfloors are where it breeds; the kitchen is somewhere it passes through at night.

As big as the American but marked with pale yellow along the edge of the wings and behind the head. The name misleads: this one lives outside in mulch and garden beds and only comes indoors to look about.

A small species with pale bands across the body that prefers warm, dry spots higher up, such as behind picture frames, in electrical housings and inside cupboards away from water.

An Elite job photo of German cockroach activity on a Sydney inspection. Egg cases, shed skins and droppings in the harbourage are how we work out what we are dealing with.

From an Elite commercial job: harbourage found inside kitchen equipment. The motor housing, the door seal and the hollow leg hold warmth after close and almost never get cleaned out.
Where and when you see them is often a better clue than size. Use this to tell us what you are seeing when you call.
| What you see | Likely species | Where the nest usually is | What treatment focuses on |
|---|---|---|---|
| Small cockroaches you can see without a torch, plus droppings like coarse pepper on cupboard edges | German cockroach - daytime sightings mean a lot of them | Hinges, the cavity behind the fridge, under the kickboards, in the housings of the appliances | Gel bait rotated through the job, a growth regulator, and crack-and-crevice work indoors |
| Big cockroaches seen after dark near a floor waste, the bathroom or the laundry | American cockroach | Sewer and stormwater pits and the subfloor - plus dried-out waste traps as the way in | We treat the pits, the drain lines and the subfloor, then seal around the pipework |
| Yellow-edged cockroaches in the garage, or coming through a door from the garden | Australian cockroach | Mulch and leaf litter, woodpiles, and the roof void | External perimeter, a dusting through the roof void, and clearing garden harbourage |
| Small cockroaches found upstairs or in bedrooms rather than around the sink | Brown-banded cockroach | Dry, warm furniture and the inside of electrical appliances | Targeted bait placement through living and sleeping spaces |
| Cockroaches returning to a unit however often you treat your own kitchen | German cockroach crossing between units | Common service risers, bin rooms, and the wall cavities that link lots | Treatment coordinated building-wide. See strata pest control |

A German cockroach egg case holds about 30 eggs and travels with the female until hatching is close. Kill the adults you can see and the next generation still arrives.
One female produces several egg cases, and in a warm kitchen the young reach maturity within weeks. That is how a handful becomes a serious problem in a short time.
Bombs and supermarket sprays push cockroaches deeper into wall voids and into the unit next door, and can contaminate the surfaces you prepare food on.
The allergen load - droppings, saliva, cast skins - is a recognised trigger for asthma and allergies, which is why clearing an infestation properly matters beyond the nuisance.
What the technician does on the day, in the order it happens.
We confirm the species and use a torch and inspection mirror to find harbourage: hinges, appliance housings, kickboards and wall voids. The treatment follows what we find, not a standard routine.
Where grease or food build-up is feeding the colony, we show you what to clean first. Bait works far better when it is the most attractive food in the room.
Professional gel goes down as small dots inside the cracks they already use. A cockroach feeds, goes home, and the product moves through the rest of the colony from there.
The growth regulator keeps nymphs from ever breeding; dust handles the wall voids and cavities that no gel dot can reach.
Pits, floor wastes, the subfloor and the roof void get treated for the American and Australian species - they come in from there, so that is where it has to be done.
You receive a written summary of what was found and done. Heavy activity after two weeks, or a return within the 6-month general-treatment warranty, brings us back free of charge.
Some DIY options help with a few stray cockroaches. An established German cockroach colony is a different job.
| Method | What it does well | Where it falls short |
|---|---|---|
| Aerosol surface spray | Kills the cockroach you can see | Does not reach egg cases or voids, and repels others deeper into walls |
| Bug bombs and foggers | Easy coverage of the exposed parts of a room | Never reaches the hiding places, leaves residue where you cook, and scatters them |
| Retail bait stations | Reasonable for a minor, early problem | Too little bait to clear a colony, and easily out-competed by crumbs and grease |
| Professional gel bait rotation | Fed on where they shelter and passed between them, with formulations rotated as needed | Only works once competing food is gone, and takes days to a couple of weeks |
| Insect growth regulator | Stops nymphs maturing into breeding adults, which breaks the egg-case cycle | Works slowly, so it is always paired with bait |
Ten minutes of preparation lets the bait reach more cockroaches.
Seeing more of them at first is expected. They come out, move slowly and die - the bait and growth regulator doing their job. Sweep up and leave everything else alone.
Activity should fall steadily. Leave bait spots in hinges and cracks alone, and avoid spraying your own insecticide over them, which can make cockroaches refuse the bait.
Where activity continues, raise it with your agent or strata manager, because they cross between lots. See apartment pest control for how a building-wide treatment runs.
Ring 1300 313 373 for a warranty re-treatment if steady activity continues past two weeks, or if cockroaches return within 6 months of a general treatment.
A cockroach sighting in a Northwood food business is a compliance problem before it is a pest problem. The program we run is built so the paperwork exists before anyone asks for it.
From The Village Shopping Centre through to the Greenwich side of Northwood, it is all one service area for us - same price, same response time.
The pattern we see across Northwood and the wider Lower North Shore is a surge after the first properly warm week, then steady pressure until autumn. Treating before that surge is far cheaper than treating after it.
The species sets the method - gel and growth regulator indoors for German cockroaches, pits and subfloor for the drain dwellers.
Gel baits in cracks and hinges, not blanket spraying across benches where you prepare food.
Single units through to commercial kitchens, with food premises worked outside trading hours.
If cockroaches return inside 6 months of a general treatment, we come back free of charge.

Get a Free QuoteA cockroach treatment starts from $89. Two things move it: how big the place is, and how far it has already spread. We work that out on the phone or on site and tell you the figure before anything starts in Northwood. Every general treatment carries a 6-month warranty.
At roughly 5.5 km north-west of the city, Northwood is on a route we run regularly. Same-day attendance is usually available. You will be given a time, not a window.
Established gardens, original timber and sub-floors that no longer breathe - that is the profile of a harbourside house, and it suits cockroaches very well.
Large older homes and converted apartments, with damp lower levels the recurring theme.
We do. A lot of our Northwood work is rentals and strata, so the report, the products used and the areas treated are all recorded in writing for whoever needs them.
It is, as long as you follow what we tell you on the day - usually keeping off treated surfaces for a couple of hours. Let us know at booking about young children, pets or an aquarium.
In the great majority of jobs, no. If one area needs to be left for an hour or two we say so before we start rather than after.
Allow an hour to two hours for most properties. A bigger building, or one where the problem has spread, takes longer - and we would rather tell you that when quoting than rush it.
Every general treatment carries a 6-month warranty. If it is not holding, call us - that is exactly what the warranty is for.
We cover the whole of Northwood, from the streets around The Village Shopping Centre out to the suburb boundary and on into Greenwich.
