Repairing the damage
Repairs come last. Until we confirm there is no activity, replacing timber can take away the bait the colony was feeding on. Structural timber - bearers, studs, roof members - needs a builder's assessment.
Termite Control in Hornsby 2077 — local technicians, fixed prices and a written report. Termite treatment starts from $179 and a full timber pest inspection from $159.

Where Hornsby sits, who covers it and what it costs.
We treat termites right across 2077. Hornsby is roughly 20.9 km north-west of the city, which puts it well inside the Upper North Shore run our technicians work. We run Hornsby on a regular route, and same-day attendance is usually available.
The Hornsby addresses we attend cluster around Collingridge Reserve and Palmerstone Centre. Thornleigh Driving Range is another part of the suburb we are called to often.
Hornsby is in the Ku-ring-gai and Hornsby area, and we cover Asquith, Wahroonga and North Wahroonga on the same runs - handy if you own more than one property or your termite problem has come from next door. With bushland close by there is constant pressure from outside, so the perimeter and the fence line get as much attention as the house.
Hornsby jobs tend to be houses backing onto a reserve, where the pressure is constant from outside. Let us know which when you ring and we will plan the visit around it.
Hornsby station and Cenotaph Park are on the same round, which means every part of 2077 is within our area.
The 2077 run is set the day before and you are given an arrival time. Where Asquith and Wahroonga fall on the same round, we can usually bring the visit forward.
Anything that puts soil or timber against the structure is a bridge - planter boxes, sleeper walls, firewood stacked on the ground. Clearing those does more for a Hornsby home than most products.
People picture termites eating a house in a season. It is slower than that and worse: a colony works quietly inside the frame of a Hornsby house for years before anything shows on the surface.
They eat from the inside out and leave the paint film intact, so a Hornsby skirting board can look perfect and sound papery when you tap it. That hollow note is often the first real evidence.
Photos from our own Sydney termite jobs. Most properties need one primary method, and some need two working together.

A ring of in-ground stations, each baited once termites are feeding. Because the workers carry it back to the nest, the colony itself is what gets eliminated rather than the ones you see.

Scheduled visits to inspect feeding and replace consumed bait. A baiting program only works if it is kept topped up, which is why the checks are part of it.

If there is active work inside a wall or architrave, we can mount bait straight onto it, which puts the colony onto bait immediately rather than waiting for them to find a station.

Termiticide placed into the soil around the building - trenched where there is soil, injected through drilled holes where there is concrete - forming a treated zone termites have to cross.

Where the floor is suspended we treat the soil around each pier and along the internal walls - the subfloor is where hidden activity usually starts.

We mark up where the timber has gone so a builder can assess structural work - scheduled after, not before, the colony is confirmed eliminated.
What you do in the first day or two affects how quickly the colony can be eliminated.
Surface spray and bombs are the worst thing to use here. The colony retreats from the treated area and you lose the access point we needed.
Leave mud tubes and damaged timber intact. Broken workings dry out and termites may retreat, which slows treatment.
Photograph mud tubes, damaged timber or winged insects and note where you saw them. It helps us plan the visit.
Moisture is usually part of the story: a leaking tap, the hot water overflow, the air conditioner condensate line. Damp soil pulls termites in, so it needs fixing too.
Don't sit on it. The colony keeps working, and we can usually inspect active termites the same or next day anywhere in Sydney.
If you are in a unit or townhouse, activity in your lot usually touches common property - tell the strata manager early.

Both are recognised approaches for existing buildings under AS 3660.2. The right choice depends on your property.
| Consideration | Baiting system | Chemical soil barrier | Combination |
|---|---|---|---|
| Main job | Eliminates the colony feeding on the building | Creates a treated zone so termites travelling through the soil are affected | Removes the active colony and protects against new ones |
| What the work involves | Setting stations into the soil around the building and baiting active workings directly | Trenching the footings and injecting through drilled holes in paths and slabs | The bait goes in first; the soil treatment follows once elimination is confirmed |
| Disruption to the property | Very little - no paths drilled, no garden beds dug up | Small holes through paving, sealed afterwards, and trenching along garden beds | Shared out over several staged visits |
| What it needs afterwards | The stations are checked on schedule and stay in place as monitoring | Service life is set by the product label and the site conditions; re-application is possible | Stations keep being checked alongside the working barrier |
| Suits | Active termites, heavily paved sites, or where chemical use needs limiting | Homes with good access to soil around the footings | Heavy activity, repeat attacks or high-risk sites near bushland |

Termite treatment is a program over several visits, not a one-off spray.
We confirm which termite it is and how far it has gone, following the tubing and checking roof void, subfloor and garden for the nest.
You receive a fixed quote that names the method, the areas, the products and the return visits required.
Bait goes onto active workings or into in-ground stations, or termiticide is applied to the soil where termites travel.
Return visits check feeding and top up bait until activity stops. Timing depends on colony size and season.
After elimination we advise on protection: a chemical soil barrier, ongoing monitoring through the stations, or a combination of the two.
A written record of every product and location, and a date for the next timber pest inspection.
Treatment starts from $179. Your fixed quote comes after we've seen the activity.
| Factor | Why it changes the price |
|---|---|
| Where they are working | A single affected door frame is a small job; activity through the subfloor and wall frames is not |
| The approach taken | Bait above ground, stations in the ground and a complete soil barrier are not comparable on product or labour |
| Size and access | The longer the perimeter and the tighter the subfloor and side access, the longer the job |
| Paving and slabs | Where a path, patio or garage slab has to be drilled and injected, it takes longer than open ground |
| How many visits | Baiting continues until elimination, so the colony's size decides how many return visits are needed |
| Property type | Strata buildings, commercial sites and homes that have been extended are each scoped separately |

In-ground stations sit flush with the soil and have locking lids. Don't move them, bury them under mulch or pour concrete over them. Tell us before landscaping so stations can be relocated.
Leave the treated soil undisturbed. New beds, paving or decking against the wall can cut through the zone - call us first and we will plan around it.
Annual inspections at minimum under AS 3660.2, and more frequently in high-risk locations. Once a property has had termites, those inspections are what protect it.
Treatment removes the colony. These property conditions attract the next one, and most are cheap to fix.
We are around Collingridge Reserve and the surrounding streets regularly, and we inspect every address in 2077 - including the ones the big franchises will not travel to.
The Upper North Shore has its own pattern - the properties backing onto reserve, gully or paddock see the most pressure, and those are the ones where an annual inspection genuinely earns its cost.
Termites will nest inside a living tree. If there is a mature gum close to a Hornsby house, that is worth including in the inspection rather than assuming the risk is only in the soil.
We hold NSW licence 5122967, and termite work is planned to AS 3660.2 for existing buildings.
Finding the source comes before picking a treatment. Spraying the visible workers is not a plan.
Everything is documented - products, treated areas, follow-up visits - for your records, your insurer or a future buyer.
The program includes its own follow-ups, so baiting is never left part-done.

At roughly 20.9 km north-west of the city, Hornsby is on a route we run regularly. Same-day attendance is usually available. You will be given a time, not a window.
The reserve next door is a permanent population you cannot treat. All that is in question is how easily termites cross from it into the building, which is a perimeter problem.
Free-standing homes with gardens running into bush. We treat the boundary as seriously as the building.
Yes. We work in houses, units, strata blocks, rentals and commercial premises across Hornsby 2077, and we provide the written report agents and strata managers ask for.
It is, applied properly. We put product into cracks, voids and stations rather than across open surfaces, and we will tell you what to stay off and for how long before we leave.
Usually not. Most of the work is done with you in the house, and where a room does need to be clear it is for a short period we will tell you about on arrival.
Between one and two hours covers the majority of jobs. We do not book so tightly that a technician has to cut a job short.
Treatments carry a 6-month warranty and we re-inspect annually. Call us if activity picks up again and we will arrange the return visit.
Yes. As well as Hornsby we cover Asquith, Wahroonga, North Wahroonga and Warrawee on the same runs, so a job that crosses a boundary can be handled in one visit.
