Repairing the damage
Hold the repairs until elimination is confirmed - taking out the timber early removes the bait. Then have a builder assess the structural members, bearers and studs and roof timbers included.

What we cover in Rhodes, and how quickly we can get there.
Postcode 2138 covers Rhodes and the streets immediately around it. At about 12.3 km west of the CBD it falls in the Inner West, where we have vans out daily. We run Rhodes on a regular route, and same-day attendance is usually available.
If you are near Rhodes station, Phoenix Park or Uhrs Point Reserve, that is ground we cover constantly - it is the busiest part of Rhodes for us.
Rhodes is in the Inner West, Burwood, Strathfield and Canada Bay area, and we cover Wentworth Point, Liberty Grove and Concord West on the same runs - handy if you own more than one property or your termite problem has come from next door. Terraces, semis and converted blocks share cavities and risers, which is why a single-unit treatment often does not hold on its own.
Most Rhodes bookings come in as apartments and converted blocks where the kitchen backs onto a service riser. Say which one applies when you call 1300 313 373 and the technician will have the right products on the van.
We cover the remainder of 2138 as well, from Rhodes Waterside Shopping Centre through to Ryde Parramatta Golf Club.
You get a confirmed time, not a window. We plan the 2138 run the day before, and if Wentworth Point or Liberty Grove is on the same round there is often an earlier slot going.
On warm, humid evenings a mature colony releases winged reproductives. If you find small piles of shed wings on a Rhodes windowsill or in a web, a flight has happened close by - often on your own block.
If you find a mud tube on a Rhodes foundation, do not break it open. Disturbing the workings scatters the colony and makes the job harder; photograph it and leave it.
Anything that puts soil or timber against the structure is a bridge - planter boxes, sleeper walls, firewood stacked on the ground. Clearing those does more for a Rhodes home than most products.
Photos from our own Sydney termite jobs. Most properties need one primary method, and some need two working together.

Soil stations placed around the footings. The timber inside draws termites in, bait replaces it, and the nest is destroyed by the workers' own foraging.

Stations are opened on a schedule to check for feeding and top up bait. Missed checks are a common reason baiting programs stall.

If there is active work inside a wall or architrave, we can mount bait straight onto it, which puts the colony onto bait immediately rather than waiting for them to find a station.

Termiticide applied into a trench along the footings, or injected through drilled holes in paths and slabs, creating a treated zone in the soil around the building.

Where the floor is suspended we treat the soil around each pier and along the internal walls - the subfloor is where hidden activity usually starts.

We show you where timber has been eaten so a builder can assess repairs, which should wait until the colony is confirmed dead.
What you do in the first day or two affects how quickly the colony can be eliminated.
Resist the spray can. You will kill a few workers and move the rest somewhere you cannot see, leaving nothing to bait.
Don't pull the workings apart. Exposed tubes dry and the colony retreats, which costs time on the treatment.
Take pictures of anything you have seen and remember where. It tells us what to bring and where to start.
Have a look for a dripping tap, a hot water overflow or an air conditioner drain near where you found them. Damp soil is an attractant and has to be dealt with as well.
Every day of delay is more timber gone. Active termite inspections are available same or next day anywhere in Sydney.

Both are recognised approaches for existing buildings under AS 3660.2. The right choice depends on your property.
| Consideration | Baiting system | Chemical soil barrier | Combination |
|---|---|---|---|
| Purpose | Elimination of the colony feeding on the structure | A treated band of soil that affects termites travelling through it | Both: the active colony goes, and new ones are deterred |
| How it goes in | Stations in the soil around the perimeter, plus bait on active workings | Trenching along footings, and drilling and injecting through paths and slabs | Bait first, then the soil treatment once the colony is gone |
| Site disturbance | Almost none: no drilling through paths, no excavating garden beds | Small sealed drill holes in paving, and trenching where there are gardens | Spread across the staged visits |
| What it needs afterwards | The stations are checked on schedule and stay in place as monitoring | Service life is set by the product label and the site conditions; re-application is possible | Stations keep being checked alongside the working barrier |
| Best suited to | Live activity, properties with a lot of paving, or where chemical use must be kept down | Houses with decent access to open soil along the footings | Serious activity, properties attacked before, or high-risk blocks near bush |

Termite treatment is a program over several visits, not a one-off spray.
We identify the termites, trace mud tubes and workings, and check the roof void, subfloor and garden for the likely nest and entry points.
You get a fixed quote naming the method, areas to be treated, products and the follow-up visits needed.
Treatment goes where the termites actually are - bait on the workings or in stations, or termiticide in the travelled soil.
Monitoring runs until elimination: each visit records feeding and replenishes bait. Bigger colonies and cooler months take longer.
Once it is dead we talk about keeping the next one out - soil barrier, ongoing station checks, or both.
You get the paperwork - what went where - along with when the next timber pest inspection is due.
Treatment starts from $179. Your fixed quote comes after we've seen the activity.
| Factor | Why it changes the price |
|---|---|
| Where the activity is | Termites in one door frame need far less work than activity spread through a subfloor and wall frames |
| Method | Product volume and labour vary considerably between above-ground baiting, in-ground stations and a full barrier |
| How big and how reachable | Time goes up with perimeter length, and again with low subfloor clearance or narrow side access |
| Concrete to work through | Open soil can be trenched quickly; paths, patios and slabs have to be drilled and injected |
| Follow-up schedule | Baiting is not one visit. It runs until elimination, and bigger colonies need more returns |
| Kind of property | Strata, commercial and extended homes - including granny flats - are individually scoped |
For typical scenarios, read how much termite treatment costs in Sydney. Warranty terms for termite work are confirmed in writing with your quote.
Hold the repairs until elimination is confirmed - taking out the timber early removes the bait. Then have a builder assess the structural members, bearers and studs and roof timbers included.
You will have in-ground stations sitting flush with locking lids. Keep them clear of mulch and concrete, leave them in place, and call before landscaping so we can relocate them.
Treated soil should not be dug up. If a garden bed, paving or a deck is going in against the house, call us before it does.
AS 3660.2 generally recommends inspections at least every 12 months, and more often in high-risk areas. After treatment, regular inspections are what catch a new colony early.
Treatment removes the colony. These property conditions attract the next one, and most are cheap to fix.
Pre-purchase is when this matters most. A report naming active termites or past damage in a Rhodes house changes the price or the decision - but only if you have it before you sign.
Our Rhodes work runs from Uhrs Point Reserve out through the back streets and across to the Wentworth Point boundary. Same price, same technicians.
Termites do not respect boundaries. A neglected yard or a demolition next door in Rhodes can push foraging onto your property, which is why we inspect fence lines and boundaries rather than only the house.
NSW licence 5122967, with termite work planned around AS 3660.2 for existing buildings.
Finding the source comes before picking a treatment. Spraying the visible workers is not a plan.
You get written records of products used, areas treated and visits made, suitable for an insurer or a buyer's inspector.
The program includes its own follow-ups, so baiting is never left part-done.

The fixed price depends on the size of the property and how far the problem has spread, and we confirm it before we start - there is no call-out fee in Rhodes 2138. Treatments carry a 6-month warranty and we re-inspect annually.
Same-day attendance is usually available. We are about 12.3 km west of the city here, and Rhodes is covered by the Inner West team.
Two things stack up here: shared structure and old drainage. Either one on its own is manageable; together they are why termites in this kind of housing is a street-level problem.
Terraces and semis that share walls, roof voids and drainage - so we look at what the property adjoins before deciding where product goes.
We do all of those. A good share of the Rhodes jobs we run are tenanted or strata properties, so the written record comes as standard.
Yes. Everything we use is registered for the purpose and applied at label rates, and we place product where people and animals do not go. Tell us about pets, aquariums or anyone with a respiratory condition at booking.
Usually not. Most of the work is done with you in the house, and where a room does need to be clear it is for a short period we will tell you about on arrival.
Allow an hour to two hours for most properties. A bigger building, or one where the problem has spread, takes longer - and we would rather tell you that when quoting than rush it.
Treatments carry a 6-month warranty and we re-inspect annually. That is the point of the warranty - you do not pay twice for the same problem.
Yes - we work right across the Inner West, Burwood, Strathfield and Canada Bay area, which takes in Rhodes and the suburbs around it.
