Repairing the damage
Repairs come last. Until we confirm there is no activity, replacing timber can take away the bait the colony was feeding on. Structural timber - bearers, studs, roof members - needs a builder's assessment.

Where Wentworth Point sits, who covers it and what it costs.
Wentworth Point is part of the Inner West, 13 km or so west of the GPO, and 2127 is a postcode we know well. We run Wentworth Point on a regular route, and same-day attendance is usually available.
Our Wentworth Point work takes in the streets by Rhodes station and Stromboli Park, through to Newington Nature Reserve at the other end.
Inner West, Burwood, Strathfield and Canada Bay is the council area for Wentworth Point, and we treat Rhodes, Liberty Grove and Newington on the same schedule. Terraces, semis and converted blocks share cavities and risers, which is why a single-unit treatment often does not hold on its own.
Around Wentworth Point the pattern is fairly consistent: terraces and semis where the problem has come through a shared wall. Tell us which it is on the phone and we will come prepared for it.
We also work the streets near Rhodes Waterside Shopping Centre and across toward Ryde Parramatta Golf Club - the whole of 2127 is covered.
The 2127 run is set the day before and you are given an arrival time. Where Rhodes and Liberty Grove fall on the same round, we can usually bring the visit forward.
The rate is not the issue - the concealment is. By the time a cornice cracks or a skirting gives way, the colony has usually been feeding on that Wentworth Point frame for a long time.
Coptotermes is the species that does most of the structural damage in Sydney, and it can nest inside a tree or a wall cavity as well as in soil. Identifying what is in the workings decides the Wentworth Point treatment.
Garden beds built up over the slab edge, timber sleepers against the wall, and mulch piled to the brickwork all give termites a covered path straight past whatever protection the house has. It is the most common fault we find in Wentworth Point.
Photos from our own Sydney termite jobs. Most properties need one primary method, and some need two working together.

Stations go into the ground around the building with timber inside. Termites locate it, we switch the timber for bait, and the colony is eliminated from the inside out.

We come back on a schedule, open each station, record the feeding and refill the bait. Skipped visits are the single most common reason a baiting program does not finish.

Where termites are working inside a wall or door frame, bait can be fixed directly over the active workings so the colony starts feeding straight away.

We trench along the footings and apply termiticide, drilling and injecting through paths and slabs where trenching is not possible, so the treated zone is continuous.

Where the floor is suspended we treat the soil around each pier and along the internal walls - the subfloor is where hidden activity usually starts.

We walk you through the damaged timber and record it for your builder. Repairs come after elimination is confirmed, not before.
What you do in the first day or two affects how quickly the colony can be eliminated.
Surface sprays and insect bombs kill the workers in sight and make the rest abandon that feeding site, leaving nothing for bait to work on.
Leave mud tubes and damaged timber intact. Broken workings dry out and termites may retreat, which slows treatment.
If you can, photograph what you found - tubing, damaged timber, flying insects - and tell us where. It shapes how we scope the inspection.
Moisture is usually part of the story: a leaking tap, the hot water overflow, the air conditioner condensate line. Damp soil pulls termites in, so it needs fixing too.
Don't sit on it. The colony keeps working, and we can usually inspect active termites the same or next day anywhere in Sydney.

Both are recognised approaches for existing buildings under AS 3660.2. The right choice depends on your property.
| Consideration | Baiting system | Chemical soil barrier | Combination |
|---|---|---|---|
| Purpose | Elimination of the colony feeding on the structure | A treated band of soil that affects termites travelling through it | Both: the active colony goes, and new ones are deterred |
| Installation | In-ground stations around the perimeter, with bait fixed to any live workings | A trench along the footings, plus drilling and injection where there is paving or slab | Baiting to start, and the soil work once the colony has gone |
| Disruption to the property | Very little - no paths drilled, no garden beds dug up | Small holes through paving, sealed afterwards, and trenching along garden beds | Shared out over several staged visits |
| Upkeep | Stations checked on a regular schedule and kept as monitoring | Service life depends on the product label and site; can be re-applied | Station checks continue while the barrier works |
| Typically chosen for | Active termites, sites under extensive paving, or where chemical input must be minimised | Properties where there is good access to the soil at the footings | Heavy activity, a history of attacks, or a high-risk bushland block |

Termite treatment is a program over several visits, not a one-off spray.
Species confirmed, workings traced, and the roof void, subfloor and garden inspected to find where the nest and entry points are.
Everything goes in writing before we start - method, treatment areas, products and the follow-up schedule - at a fixed price.
Bait goes onto active workings or into in-ground stations, or termiticide is applied to the soil where termites travel.
Monitoring runs until elimination: each visit records feeding and replenishes bait. Bigger colonies and cooler months take longer.
After elimination we advise on protection: a chemical soil barrier, ongoing monitoring through the stations, or a combination of the two.
Everything applied is recorded in writing, with the recommended date for your next timber pest inspection.
Treatment starts from $179. Your fixed quote comes after we've seen the activity.
| Factor | Why it changes the price |
|---|---|
| Where the activity is | Termites in one door frame need far less work than activity spread through a subfloor and wall frames |
| The approach taken | Bait above ground, stations in the ground and a complete soil barrier are not comparable on product or labour |
| How big and how reachable | Time goes up with perimeter length, and again with low subfloor clearance or narrow side access |
| Concrete & paving | Paths, patios and garage slabs that must be drilled and injected take longer than open soil |
| How many visits | Baiting continues until elimination, so the colony's size decides how many return visits are needed |
| Building type | Strata buildings, commercial sites and homes with extensions or granny flats are scoped individually |

Repairs come last. Until we confirm there is no activity, replacing timber can take away the bait the colony was feeding on. Structural timber - bearers, studs, roof members - needs a builder's assessment.
Stations sit level with the soil and lock shut. They must not be moved, mulched over or paved across. If landscaping is coming, let us know first and we will relocate them.
Treated soil works best left undisturbed. New garden beds, pavers or a deck against the house can break the treated zone, so call us before those works.
The standard, AS 3660.2, recommends an inspection at least annually and more frequently where risk is high. After a treatment, those inspections are how a new colony gets caught early.
Treatment removes the colony. These property conditions attract the next one, and most are cheap to fix.
If you are anywhere in 2127, or over toward Rhodes, you are inside the area we cover for inspections and treatment.
Termites will nest inside a living tree. If there is a mature gum close to a Wentworth Point house, that is worth including in the inspection rather than assuming the risk is only in the soil.
The Inner West has its own pattern - the properties backing onto reserve, gully or paddock see the most pressure, and those are the ones where an annual inspection genuinely earns its cost.

We work out where termites are coming from before choosing a method, rather than spraying what's visible.
You get written records of products used, areas treated and visits made, suitable for an insurer or a buyer's inspector.
The follow-up visits are part of the program, so a baiting job does not get abandoned halfway.

Same-day attendance is usually available. Wentworth Point is about 13 km west of the CBD in the Inner West, and we give you a firm arrival time rather than an all-day window.
Two things stack up here: shared structure and old drainage. Either one on its own is manageable; together they are why termites in this kind of housing is a street-level problem.
Terraces and semis, often with a paved rear courtyard that traps damp against the wall - both of which shape the job.
Yes - freestanding homes, townhouses, apartments, rentals and business premises in Wentworth Point 2127 are all covered, with documentation suitable for an agent or a strata manager.
It is, as long as you follow what we tell you on the day - usually keeping off treated surfaces for a couple of hours. Let us know at booking about young children, pets or an aquarium.
Most of the time you can carry on as normal. If a particular area needs to be empty we will flag it when we arrive and it is rarely more than a couple of hours.
Allow one to two hours for a typical Wentworth Point property. Larger homes, or ones where the problem has spread, take longer and we will say so when we quote.
Treatments carry a 6-month warranty and we re-inspect annually. That is the point of the warranty - you do not pay twice for the same problem.
All of them. Wentworth Point sits alongside Rhodes, Liberty Grove, Newington and Concord West in our coverage, and they are serviced on the same schedule.
