Repairing the damage
Repairs come last. Until we confirm there is no activity, replacing timber can take away the bait the colony was feeding on. Structural timber - bearers, studs, roof members - needs a builder's assessment.

Our Ryde & the Northern District technicians cover Eastwood and the rest of 2122 as a matter of course - it is only about 14.7 km north-west of the city. We run Eastwood on a regular route, and same-day attendance is usually available.
A lot of our Eastwood jobs are in the streets around Denistone station and Eastwood Park, and we are out near Somerville Park regularly enough that the technician usually knows the access before they arrive.
Denistone West, Denistone and Epping are all on the same route as Eastwood. The building stock is close-packed, so we look at what the property adjoins before deciding where product goes.
The bulk of our Eastwood work is terraces and semis where the problem has come through a shared wall. Mention the detail when you call 1300 313 373 - it decides how long we need on site.
The rest of 2122 is covered too, including the pockets around Eastwood Shopping Centre and West Ryde Marketplace.
Bookings for 2122 are confirmed the day before with a set arrival time, not an all-day window. Jobs at Denistone West and Denistone often share the same run, which is how earlier slots come up.
Nasutitermes is common in gardens around Eastwood and far less destructive than Coptotermes. Knowing which you have is the difference between urgent and manageable.
A mature colony can run to a million workers and eat through structural timber steadily rather than dramatically. Most of the serious damage we find in Eastwood homes accumulated over years in a wall nobody opened.
Alates look like flying ants. The giveaway is the wings: termite wings are all the same length and shed in piles, ant wings are not. Finding them in a Eastwood house means a mature colony nearby.
Photos from our own Sydney termite jobs. Most properties need one primary method, and some need two working together.

Soil stations placed around the footings. The timber inside draws termites in, bait replaces it, and the nest is destroyed by the workers' own foraging.

Stations are opened on a schedule to check for feeding and top up bait. Missed checks are a common reason baiting programs stall.

Where we find them working in a frame or wall lining, bait goes on over the workings themselves and the colony begins feeding the same day.

Termiticide placed into the soil around the building - trenched where there is soil, injected through drilled holes where there is concrete - forming a treated zone termites have to cross.

The subfloor is included on suspended floors - soil around the piers and along the walls - since that is the usual starting point for activity nobody saw.

We walk you through the damaged timber and record it for your builder. Repairs come after elimination is confirmed, not before.
What you do in the first day or two affects how quickly the colony can be eliminated.
Surface sprays and insect bombs kill the workers in sight and make the rest abandon that feeding site, leaving nothing for bait to work on.
Mud tubes and eaten timber are best left alone. Open them up and they dry out, the termites withdraw, and the treatment takes longer.
Photograph mud tubes, damaged timber or winged insects and note where you saw them. It helps us plan the visit.
Look around for water - leaks, overflow pipes, the air conditioner drip. Termites want damp soil, and treating without fixing it leaves the attraction in place.
Don't sit on it. The colony keeps working, and we can usually inspect active termites the same or next day anywhere in Sydney.
In strata, termites in your lot very often involve common property, so the manager needs to hear about it early rather than late.

Both are recognised approaches for existing buildings under AS 3660.2. The right choice depends on your property.
| Consideration | Baiting system | Chemical soil barrier | Combination |
|---|---|---|---|
| What it achieves | The colony feeding on the house is eliminated | Termites crossing the treated soil around the building are affected | Clears the current attack and defends against the following one |
| Method of install | Soil stations round the perimeter and bait onto the workings themselves | Trenching at the footings with drilling and injection through hard surfaces | Bait phase first, soil barrier second |
| Disruption to the property | Very little - no paths drilled, no garden beds dug up | Small holes through paving, sealed afterwards, and trenching along garden beds | Shared out over several staged visits |
| Upkeep | Stations checked on a regular schedule and kept as monitoring | Service life depends on the product label and site; can be re-applied | Station checks continue while the barrier works |
| Where it fits | Active termites, sites that are mostly paved, and cases where less chemical is preferred | Buildings where the soil around the footings is readily accessible | Heavy infestations, repeat attacks, and high-risk sites backing onto bushland |

Termite treatment is a program over several visits, not a one-off spray.
First the species, then the extent: we follow the mud tubing and workings and inspect the roof void, the subfloor and the garden for the nest and the way in.
Everything goes in writing before we start - method, treatment areas, products and the follow-up schedule - at a fixed price.
The active colony is treated either by baiting - directly on the workings or via in-ground stations - or by applying termiticide to the soil on their route.
We keep coming back to read the feeding and refill bait until the activity ends. How long that takes depends on the colony and the time of year.
Once it is dead we talk about keeping the next one out - soil barrier, ongoing station checks, or both.
Everything applied is recorded in writing, with the recommended date for your next timber pest inspection.
Treatment starts from $179. Your fixed quote comes after we've seen the activity.
| Factor | Why it changes the price |
|---|---|
| How far it has spread | One door frame is quick. Activity through the subfloor and into the wall frames is a much bigger job |
| Method | Product volume and labour vary considerably between above-ground baiting, in-ground stations and a full barrier |
| Perimeter size and access | A long perimeter, a tight subfloor or a narrow side passage all add hours |
| Hard surfaces | Drilling and injecting through paths, patios and garage slabs is slower than trenching open soil |
| Follow-up schedule | Baiting is not one visit. It runs until elimination, and bigger colonies need more returns |
| Property type | Strata buildings, commercial sites and homes that have been extended are each scoped separately |

Stations sit level with the soil and lock shut. They must not be moved, mulched over or paved across. If landscaping is coming, let us know first and we will relocate them.
Treated soil works best left undisturbed. New garden beds, pavers or a deck against the house can break the treated zone, so call us before those works.
AS 3660.2 generally recommends inspections at least every 12 months, and more often in high-risk areas. After treatment, regular inspections are what catch a new colony early.
Treatment removes the colony. These property conditions attract the next one, and most are cheap to fix.
Termites will nest inside a living tree. If there is a mature gum close to a Eastwood house, that is worth including in the inspection rather than assuming the risk is only in the soil.
Colonies forage over a wide area underground - tens of metres - so a stump, a timber retaining wall or an untreated deck on the adjoining block feeds a colony that can reach your Eastwood house.
If you are anywhere in 2122, or over toward Denistone West, you are inside the area we cover for inspections and treatment.
Licensed in NSW under 5122967, with every termite job planned around AS 3660.2.
We work out where termites are coming from before choosing a method, rather than spraying what's visible.
A documented job: what was used, where, and when we returned - for your files, your insurer or whoever buys the place.
The program includes its own follow-ups, so baiting is never left part-done.

Same-day attendance is usually available. Eastwood sits roughly 14.7 km north-west of the CBD, inside our Ryde & the Northern District run, so we book a time and keep to it.
Most of this area is terrace, semi and converted block, and those share more than people realise - cavities, roof spaces, drainage. termites use all of it.
Joined housing with ageing drainage. That combination decides where product goes far more than the floor plan does.
We do all of those. A good share of the Eastwood jobs we run are tenanted or strata properties, so the written record comes as standard.
It is, as long as you follow what we tell you on the day - usually keeping off treated surfaces for a couple of hours. Let us know at booking about young children, pets or an aquarium.
In the great majority of jobs, no. If one area needs to be left for an hour or two we say so before we start rather than after.
An hour to two hours covers most jobs. The size of the building and the extent of the problem are what change it.
Treatments carry a 6-month warranty and we re-inspect annually. If activity continues past the expected period, call us and we will come back.
Yes. As well as Eastwood we cover Denistone West, Denistone, Epping and West Ryde on the same runs, so a job that crosses a boundary can be handled in one visit.
