Repairing the damage
Wait for confirmation that the colony is dead before repairing anything. Pull out the timber too soon and you remove what they were feeding on. Get a builder to assess the structural members - bearers, studs, roof timbers.

What we cover in Woodpark, and how quickly we can get there.
Woodpark is part of the Greater Parramatta & Cumberland, 23 km or so west of the GPO, and 2164 is a postcode we know well. We run Woodpark on a regular route, and same-day attendance is usually available.
Our Woodpark work takes in the streets by Greystanes Shopping Centre and Guildford station, through to Sandra Street Park at the other end.
This is the City of Parramatta and Cumberland area, and our runs here also take in Merrylands West, Guildford West and Greystanes. The building stock is close-packed, so we look at what the property adjoins before deciding where product goes.
What we see in Woodpark is apartments and converted blocks where the kitchen backs onto a service riser. Describing it accurately when you book saves a second visit.
Tom Uren Park and Cumberland Country Golf Course are on the same round, which means every part of 2164 is within our area.
You get a confirmed time, not a window. We plan the 2164 run the day before, and if Merrylands West or Guildford West is on the same round there is often an earlier slot going.
Swarming season around Woodpark runs through the warmer, wetter months. A flight does not mean your house is infested, but it does mean a colony within flying distance has reached maturity.
Nasutitermes is common in gardens around Woodpark and far less destructive than Coptotermes. Knowing which you have is the difference between urgent and manageable.
People assume they are covered until they claim. Termite damage is excluded as a maintenance issue, so for a Woodpark home the only protection that exists is finding them early.
Photos from our own Sydney termite jobs. Most properties need one primary method, and some need two working together.

Stations go into the ground around the building with timber inside. Termites locate it, we switch the timber for bait, and the colony is eliminated from the inside out.

The stations get opened, read and refilled on a regular cycle. Let that slip and the program stalls - it is the usual explanation for one that never completed.

Where termites are working inside a wall or door frame, bait can be fixed directly over the active workings so the colony starts feeding straight away.

A treated zone in the soil: termiticide trenched in along the footings, and injected through holes drilled in paving or slab where there is no open soil.

Where the floor is suspended we treat the soil around each pier and along the internal walls - the subfloor is where hidden activity usually starts.

We show you where timber has been eaten so a builder can assess repairs, which should wait until the colony is confirmed dead.
What you do in the first day or two affects how quickly the colony can be eliminated.
Resist the spray can. You will kill a few workers and move the rest somewhere you cannot see, leaving nothing to bait.
Leave mud tubes and damaged timber intact. Broken workings dry out and termites may retreat, which slows treatment.
Photograph mud tubes, damaged timber or winged insects and note where you saw them. It helps us plan the visit.
Have a look for a dripping tap, a hot water overflow or an air conditioner drain near where you found them. Damp soil is an attractant and has to be dealt with as well.
They do not stop while you think about it. We hold same-day and next-day slots across Sydney for active termites.
If you are in a unit or townhouse, activity in your lot usually touches common property - tell the strata manager early.
A licensed Sydney technician will talk it through and give you a fixed quote within half an hour.
Both are recognised approaches for existing buildings under AS 3660.2. The right choice depends on your property.
| Consideration | Baiting system | Chemical soil barrier | Combination |
|---|---|---|---|
| What it achieves | The colony feeding on the house is eliminated | Termites crossing the treated soil around the building are affected | Clears the current attack and defends against the following one |
| How it is applied | Perimeter stations in the ground, plus bait placed straight onto working termites | Trenched along the footings, drilled and injected under concrete | Staged: baiting, then soil treatment after the colony is dead |
| How intrusive it is | Low. Nothing drilled, nothing dug out of the garden | Paving gets small drill holes which are then sealed, and gardens get trenched | Spread over staged visits rather than one disruptive day |
| What it needs afterwards | The stations are checked on schedule and stay in place as monitoring | Service life is set by the product label and the site conditions; re-application is possible | Stations keep being checked alongside the working barrier |
| Right for | Current activity, heavily paved blocks, or where chemical use needs limiting | Homes with good soil access around the footings | Heavy or repeated activity, and high-risk properties close to bush |

Termite treatment is a program over several visits, not a one-off spray.
We confirm which termite it is and how far it has gone, following the tubing and checking roof void, subfloor and garden for the nest.
Everything goes in writing before we start - method, treatment areas, products and the follow-up schedule - at a fixed price.
We put bait onto the live workings or into in-ground stations, or treat the soil they travel through with termiticide.
Return visits carry on until there is no activity left, with bait checked and refilled at each. The duration comes down to colony size and season.
Elimination is not protection. We recommend a soil barrier, continued station monitoring, or both, so a fresh colony does not simply replace the last one.
You receive a written record of what was applied and where, plus a recommended date for your next timber pest inspection.
Treatment starts from $179. Your fixed quote comes after we've seen the activity.
| Factor | Why it changes the price |
|---|---|
| Location of the activity | Termites confined to one architrave take far less work than activity running through a subfloor and the wall framing |
| Method chosen | Above-ground baiting, in-ground stations and full soil barriers use different amounts of product and labour |
| Access and perimeter | Long footings, restricted subfloor height and narrow passages down the side all add labour |
| Paving and slabs | Where a path, patio or garage slab has to be drilled and injected, it takes longer than open ground |
| Follow-up schedule | Baiting is not one visit. It runs until elimination, and bigger colonies need more returns |
| What sort of property | A strata block, a commercial site or a house with an extension or granny flat is quoted individually |

Stations sit level with the soil and lock shut. They must not be moved, mulched over or paved across. If landscaping is coming, let us know first and we will relocate them.
Leave the treated soil undisturbed. New beds, paving or decking against the wall can cut through the zone - call us first and we will plan around it.
Inspections at least every 12 months is the AS 3660.2 recommendation, with shorter intervals in high-risk areas. Post-treatment, that is what finds the next colony while it is small.
Treatment removes the colony. These property conditions attract the next one, and most are cheap to fix.
An old stump left in a Woodpark backyard is a colony waiting to happen, and it sits metres from the house. Removing stumps and off-ground storing firewood costs nothing and removes a food source.
Colonies forage over a wide area underground - tens of metres - so a stump, a timber retaining wall or an untreated deck on the adjoining block feeds a colony that can reach your Woodpark house.
Pre-purchase is when this matters most. A report naming active termites or past damage in a Woodpark house changes the price or the decision - but only if you have it before you sign.

Finding the source comes before picking a treatment. Spraying the visible workers is not a plan.
Products, areas treated and follow-up visits recorded for your files, insurer or a future buyer.
Return visits are included rather than optional, which is why our baiting programs actually finish.

Get a Free QuoteTermite treatment starts from $179 and a full timber pest inspection from $159. What changes the figure is the size of the building, how many areas are affected and the access. You get that number up front for Woodpark 2164, with no call-out fee. Treatments carry a 6-month warranty and we re-inspect annually.
Same-day attendance is usually available. Our Greater Parramatta & Cumberland technicians cover Woodpark daily, and you get a confirmed arrival time when you book.
Most of this area is terrace, semi and converted block, and those share more than people realise - cavities, roof spaces, drainage. termites use all of it.
Mostly terrace and semi. We look at the party wall, the sub-floor and the roof space, because those are the routes between houses.
We do. A lot of our Woodpark work is rentals and strata, so the report, the products used and the areas treated are all recorded in writing for whoever needs them.
Yes, applied correctly. Products are registered for this use, placed out of reach rather than across open surfaces, and you will know what to stay off and for how long.
Usually not. Most of the work is done with you in the house, and where a room does need to be clear it is for a short period we will tell you about on arrival.
For a standard Woodpark home, one to two hours. We would rather tell you it will take longer up front than rush it.
Treatments carry a 6-month warranty and we re-inspect annually. Call us if activity picks up again and we will arrange the return visit.
We do. Woodpark and Merrylands West, Guildford West, Greystanes and Merrylands are all on the same route, which helps if you own more than one property in the area.
